Ascent East End

"I have lived here for a while now to fully understand how things are ran and how much of the management really does not care for their residents. Upon moving in they will overcharge you with fees up to a couple hundred to a few hundred dollars that are not stated in the lease agreement. I have had this happen to myself. Residents will steal laundry from the machines and move your laundry so they can do theirs at their own convenience. This is all caught on camera but they say they will do something but never will or even care to look into it. I was very polite and one of the ladies in management and I left on a good note and she said she would do something about it but never did. I reached out a few times but there was no response back. Good luck getting any help here even if your personal belongings are stolen. And good luck trying to save money because they are money hungry and will charge for anything they can. I can't wait to move out once my lease ends so I can go to a place where the management is how it should be and they will actually take action on series matters. Beautiful place, terribly ran."

"The good thing about living at Ascent East End is the close location to some of the best things that Boise has to offer such as the river, parks, and downtown area. While this is a big thing to consider, there are quite a few red flags with these apartment and management. -To start, there have been a total of five managers here over the last year, often times there is no warning of them leaving and any agreements or communications about your lease becomes lost or miscommunicated between them. -The rental company boasts about the amenities that it offers: the pool, clubhouse, "gym," laundry facilities, and grounds. The pool is a nice amenity when it is clean. The clubhouse has provided temporary shelter for those who are homeless and intoxicated on hard drugs, like meth creating an unsafe and undesiring environment. - The gym is open and boasts out of date equipment or equipment that is broken (aside from cardio equipment). - The laundry room is operated by credit card swipe or app, but the credit card swipe portal is often broken like the rest most of the machines. The washers here have left my clothes ruined or smelling foul upon removal, and when they finally have gotten clean after numerous washes, the dryer(s) fail to dry them due to being broken. I have since started washing at a laundromat like a few other tenants have suggested. - The grounds are outdated and littered with dog feces from owners refusing to pick up after their dogs. It is everywhere that you look. With that being said, it is not really an ideal yard to hang out in or allow your dog to run around in, unless you are prepared to clean dog feces from their paws or your shoes. -The apartments look great upon entering, but soon after entering mine and signing a lease I noticed the disgusting amount of dust being blown from the vents. They will give you filters for this, but they only go so far. - There are some very nice and awesome people that live here, but management has also moved in quite a bit of tenants who are not. I have seen plenty of neighbors be arrested for numerous things including a potential sexual assault and witnessed heavy police presence here over the past summer on numerous occasions. It is also not hard to see who was using harder drugs in this complex and the effects it has on everyone else. -There is also a blind eye turned to having large dogs that are "playful" off leash. This creates a huge safety issue for people walking to and from their apartments. Another tenant and I have had to chase off a large pit bull that was viciously attempting to steal a dog out of my elderly neighbor's arms. -People who are evicted from this complex often return and linger around the premises without being told to leave. My experience here is certainly shared with other tenants and former tenants, but I want to share this with whoever is considering this place as a potential living situation. There are plenty of rentals in the area that do not boast the issues that this place does. Renting an apartment might be the best option for you, but renting here is certainly not."

"False facade of luxury covering a nightmare. Among many other issues, there's multiple active leaks of brown liquid that smells nauseating, and the cabinet has started to mold. I have health issues and already feel sick from breathing in the fumes. Aside from being completely overpriced for over $1400/month, this poses a health hazard and violates the guidelines of Idaho Code §6-320 and the State of Idaho Landlord and Tenant manual. This is completely unnacceptable and I will not accept living in these conditions, or else I will be contacing the health department and taking legal action. I will be staying in a hotel room tonight instead. Please see the attached pictures."

"I have lived here for a few years. We first came when we moved 11 years ago and then I moved back about 5 or 6 years ago. The management company has changed a few times, but overall I like it. It’s so close to my job, and Eric the Maintenance Manager is so helpful and fixes things very quickly. We have a new Manager on site, and he has been very helpful and good about everything. Before he came it was hit and miss, but he seems to be pretty on the ball. The rent is a little more reasonable than other places and they are renovated nicely. For me I am happy here. It fits my lifestyle and I wouldn’t want to move. They are still doing renovations so we know they care about the residents. For me, it’s a good place to live."

"I absolutely loved living here. Lived here for six years. I was a young college student that wanted easy access to BSU as well as downtown. After I graduated, I stayed for a couple more years With the location, you're right next to the greenbelt and the Boise river, a ten minute walk into downtown, a fifteen minute walk to BSU. The building itself is a bit older so you have to deal with a little wear and tear. The only problem I had was with the bathroom. The ceiling frequently gets mold and no matter how many times I scrubbed it or painted over it, it always came back. Other than that minor issue, I think the place is excellent. The property managers have always been amazing. The four I had were personable and listened to any problems I had and were quick to address the issues. If you're young, you honestly can't find a better place for the price!"
