Then come to find out the same thing happened to my friend. It’s like their billing is just a lawsuit. Seriously even if you’re dying, take the time to go to Wesley. I’ve never heard good things about this place, but didn’t expect them to go that low."

"Just was in the ER with my mother as they were trying to diagnose what was going on. While they were still running tests after she had been transported by ambulance, the woman behind the desk waddled into the room, asking about power of attorney, in case my mother WHO WAS LAYING IN THE ROOM HOOKED TO MONITORS, couldn't pay her bill. All the clerk was concerned about was getting the money. The last time Mom had been in the ER, she was actually sent a threatening collections notice for an outstanding bill of $1.72, because mom never received a first bill. NMC might as well add dollar signs to its logo."

"If I could give a zero star rating I would. For the billing department specifically. For Dianna Voth I believe her name was. I called for details on a bill from 2020, that I didn’t realize wasn’t taken care of due to me going into the army/active duty that same year. Being gone, I never received communication about the bill, and thought that it was paid for. There was a payment plan in place, and apparently it got cancelled and I wasn’t aware of it, leading me here to calling about the same bill 3 years later. She was very rude, interrupted me while I was talking, got hateful when I was trying to explain the situation better to her, and refused to let me speak, because “she had the benefit of the notes”. Offered no help, aside from what she had to say, and continued to be rude for the remainder of the phone call. Definitely won’t be speaking with her again, or receiving care at Newton Medical Center again. Definitely not how you show proper customer service, regardless of the situation or what your notes show or say. You can remain respectful, and helpful without disregarding respect and neglecting your customer service skills."
