"Manage your expectations when booking with Boise Trolley Tours. The pre-recorded audio was difficult to hear and the driver pointed in the general direction of attractions but we often didn’t know what to look at. Planned roadwork and detours meant we couldn’t see quite a few things on the list and there was no plan to adjust or accommodate. But most of all, the tour was oversold. Yes, we walked on the bus last, but with four paid tickets, there should have been enough seats for all of us. My husband had to sit on a wooden box near the front of the bus, next to the open trolley door with no safety measures in place. Meanwhile, I sat toward the back with another group. When I inquired about a refund for his ticket, I was met with rude responses - that it was our fault for boarding last. Ultimately, they refunded one ticket. I’d look elsewhere…."
"I loved this and driver did a good job of handling road work detours. I was born and raised in Boise and still learned a lot. The driver added to the recorded message whenever needed. My classmates from the Borah high class of 63 all enjoyed it and learned things we didn't know before about the great city of Boise. Be sure to wrap up because trolley is not fully enclosed."
"My members had a great time learning some of the history of the Boise area. The driver was a nice man. The tour is pre-recorded, some of the information I believe needs to be updated, and if there are road closures or detours, it throws the narrative off,but overall, I would recommend doing this"
"This was a very disturbing experience. We chose a tour and paid for four tickets online. Debra emailed saying she couldn’t justify a tour for only four people and offered us a date that we couldn’t do. We declined the offer, thanked her, and requested a refund. Much later, after we had made other plans, she emailed saying she had more people signed up for the date we originally purchased and that she’d see us then. I let her know we had already committed to other plans for that night and requested the refund for the $80.00. I didn’t hear from her so I reached out again to clarify; she emailed me back that the tour is going on that I ordered, totally dismissing the fact she had cancelled it and now we could no longer do it. I emailed again requesting the refund and haven’t heard back from her. Now we are out $80.00. It’s sad that something that seemed so fun and joyful was tainted. She cancelled and wouldn’t refund our money. I feel completely jerked around and swindled. Update: Our money was refunded after several emails and requests."
"The tour itself was okay. It was prerecorded and was somewhat difficult to follow as it didn’t always match up to our exact location. The driver often pointed in the general direction the recording was referring to, but was easy to miss if you were busy looking around. It was difficult to decipher which building was being talked about. The website really should have more information to make the experience less stressful such as an exact address to the pickup location and loading time. Joe’s Crab Shack is located at 2288 N. Garden St, Boise, ID 83706. The trolley arrived about 10 minutes prior to the departure time, but parked at a little lot across the street so make sure to keep your eyes open because they didn’t announce when they had arrived. We went in July and there was no ac, but the breeze felt pretty good once we started moving. Thankfully, they were selling cold water bottles for $1, but you are allowed to bring your own drink with you. My husband and I got to really see the area without either of us having to focus on driving, we learned some neat information about Boise, and the driver was very nice. All in all, I’m happy that we took the tour. I hope this was helpful!"
