"This place was so incredibly interesting. You really should make the time to get the guided tour though. It wouldn’t have been nearly as interesting if we didn’t opt for this."
"This was such a neat experience. Friendly staff and very helpful. Visited in January and a jacket is a must since most everything is outdoors. Spent a lot of time visiting each building. Great for history buffs or to pass the time. Cheap tickets, too."
"I've visited this site twice now, once just touring throughout the day and the second time at night closer to Halloween when they allowed access to the "dungeon" I really find this place fascinating. They give you a map when you first come in which is extremely helpful. They have informational posters all throughout the buildings giving you all the tea about the history of the buildings and the inmates who served time there. It was very interesting to see. I love that they offer guided tours but they also allow you to self tour the site. I could spend hours there reading about all the inmates and the crimes that ultimately led them there. The price to get in is extremely reasonable. It's a great way to pass the time and have a really cool look into the past. Highly recommend if you happen to be in the Boise area!"
"This place is always neat to visit. I've been several times, and it never gets old. The weapons museum is a bonus, and so is the gift shop. Definitely take your time to read all the little tidbits they have around. Place holds a lot of information and stories."
"Very cool. Amazing history and tons of great info. The staff are extremely knowledgeable and friendly. If you go to Boise this is a must see! Highly recommend the historic prison tour also- you won't regret spending the extra 8$. 5 stars all the way!"
