About Us
The Idaho Reptile Zoo, located at 10531 West Overland Road in Boise, Idaho, is a 10,000 square foot reptile rescue and education center that is open to the public 7 days a week. With over 300 animals at any given time, the zoo provides permanent homes to rescues and rehabilitation animals. Educational outreach programs are offered throughout the Treasure Valley.
Thanks to generous donors and sponsors, the Idaho Reptile Zoo is now open to the public, offering a hands-on educational experience for visitors. The facility houses a variety of rescues, adoptable animals, and avian species, working closely with government agencies to ensure the welfare of all animals. The zoo's mascot, Beast the Blue tegu, along with a team of Burmese pythons and Harriet the Salmon Pink Birdeater tarantula, serve as animal ambassadors to educate the public about these fascinating creatures.
The zoo's mission is to open and maintain Idaho's first Reptile Zoo and Education Center, with plans for large indoor and outdoor enclosures where visitors can interact with reptiles, arachnids, birds, and amphibians. In addition to adoption services, the zoo's store and partners offer supplies and food for exotic pets. As a non-profit organization, the Idaho Reptile Zoo relies on grants and donations to continue its important work, inviting the public to join in their journey.
