Reviews
"Mitchell Woodside’s review is completely irrelevant and out of spite- Jill was extremely professional and addressed the situation and made changes to ensure it did not happen again. She has also gone out of her way to keep accounts separate with split parents. The care was amazing and one of the teachers is even a sub for my sons 1st grade and he is over the moon excited. If we were closer, we could have never left!"
"Both boys have went here since they were both newborn; now 5 and 7. The staff is always friendly and they genuinely seem to care about my kids. They provide meals, snacks, and transportation to and from the schools. During the summer, they take the kids on field trips. Large outdoor play area and convenient location if you live in West Wichita/Maize area. They deserve more than 5 stars, but this is as high as Google lets me go!"
"My daughter started here today and was told not to return. I will admit her behavior her first day was horrible. I explained to them when i toured that she has been at the same daycare since she was 2yr old (she is now 4 1/2) her dad and I are recently divorced, and she started a new daycare on his days. I warned them that she was having behavior issues (not listening, throwing things, and screaming) and that i am more than willing to work with staff. She will be going back to her old daycare where she is welcome...i only moved her due to her being in the Maize school district next year...they gave ZERO warning that she would not be able to attend anymore. They didnt even call to tell me about the issue until the end of the day. I would not consider using them if your child is going through a lot of difficult changes...they do not seem equipped to handle issues."
"My son attended here from the time he was 5 months to about 19 months. The staff that cared for my son almost always seemed engaged, and he was almost always excited to see them. That is the only reason why this isn't a one-star review. I was disappointed that things like his development milestone progress reports were not consistent, and that once he moved into the 1 year old room, the room teachers were very inconsistent--I never knew who would be working each day so I couldn't tell my son what to expect. We had issues with illnesses, which is somewhat to be expected in any daycare, but then we were told that it was OK to bring him back the next day as long as his fever was gone in the morning--against state guidelines and their own policy which says to wait 24 hours. I think this bending of the rules was the reason my son was sick so much. He was on antibiotics 3 times in a two month period, all for unrelated illnesses. He actually developed an allergy to amoxicillin from the whole ordeal. That had my husband and I searching for a new daycare, but before we had settled on which one, I received a call at work on a Wednesday from Nedra saying that my son was no longer welcome there after Friday. I had two days to find an opening at a new daycare. My son is a biter, and I can understand that every daycare has their limit on what they can accept, but we had no realistic warning. The manual that was in effect when my son started said that "No child is ever excluded from our program because of biting." It also said that we would be notified with two weeks notice if anything in the handbook changes--which we weren't. Additionally, their current handbook says that the steps to getting kicked out involve a conference with the parents, director, and teachers together to try to work out a plan, but that never happened. It's unfortunate that the daycare has such bad management--it's a tragedy to the teachers, parents, and kids who go there. I would have sued if I thought it would have done any good--but hopefully by sharing my story, those that come behind can know a little more about what they might be getting into at Country Child Care."
"Country Child Care is a great center! We have been sending our kids for over a year. They offer competitive rates, extremely flexible scheduling, and quality programs. I am a nurse and work two weekdays a week. The days my kids go changes frequently. As long as I give them notice, my kids are welcome any time. This center is one of the only centers that will let you pick and choose part time days. Everyone is friendly and my boys love going there. We plan on using them for many years to come!"
