"We had lower expectations because we had never been here before…there were some good and bad things, I will share both with you. The good: It’s easy to find, the price is ok, the rooms were clean and nice. The bad: I read through the emails they sent me several times and there was no mention of a room number or what to do when we arrived. When we actually pulled into the property we drove over to the office/store/gas station area and the door was open but no one was there. We knocked and called out but no one answered. We tried getting on the Wi-Fi and messaging them but we got no response for over two hours. We finally just went over to the rooms and let ourselves into one of them. We drive over an hour to Stanley to find a restaurant. When we drive back we decided to get into the private hot tub. It really offered little to no privacy. The adjoining units are separated by only a slat wooden fence, which you could see through and easily hear. We were trying to have a romantic get away for our anniversary and we decided to take our chances inside the room. When we got back in the room there were people outside the front door knocking and trying to get in. Like..we are literally naked from the hot tub and walk into are room and there are headlights shining in the window (no drapes) and people trying to get into our room. The owner texts me back finally (2+ hours later) telling me I’m supposed to be in a different room. We were soooo uncomfortable. We were nervous/afraid someone was going to come in. We definitely were not relaxing and enjoying our trip. The hot tub outside was gross and not private. Bugs and weeds in it…felt slimy. no communication from staff…never saw or talked to a single person from Haven hot springs, other than. 2 hour later response telling me I was supposed to be in room 2. We hardly slept. Got up super early and left. We didn’t even stay for the big pool time we had reserved. I’m not trying to get my money back…just want people to know that I had a confusing, nerve wracking time and was un happy with this trip. Maybe some people appreciate a sort of lais·sez-faire approach to things. But not me. I’m adding to this. You can see the owners response below. They are correct. There apparently is a #2 in front of the date. But it doesn’t tell you that is your room number. I guess you are supposed to know that #2 means room 2. When I get the email…how would I know that? For all I know the rooms are A. B. C. Etc. you can’t just put a #2 the the subject line of an email and expect people to drive hours to your facility, not answer the phone, not respond to their texts and then blame them for not knowing what the #2 meant. You know what would have clarified this whole issue? If you had been onsite, if you had answered the phone, if you had responded to the text, or… simply put in the message YOU ARE IN ROOM NUMBER 2. Your “room number” in the email is cryptic at best. I’m not the first person to experience this…read the other reviews. I’m telling you now. It’s confusing. Fix it. And yes…that’s why people book a private hot springs to bathe and relax in the nude. You’re trying to say I’m not prepared? I’ve got people banging on my door and my wife and I were terrified. Yes folks, they are right…there are mini blinds. Try to have some privacy with people standing outside your window with mini blinds. No curtains to draw…people can literally see inside and see shapes and outlines. Don’t stay here."
"I think people that are leaving negative reviews don't quite understand this motel. ITS IN THE MIDDLE OF A FOREST. No reception in this area and the wifi isn't always great. The nearest hospital is like 2 hours away. Give them a break. Follow directions. READ booking instructions and rules THOROUGHLY. It's pandemic times at that. I booked and canceled earlier this year and received my refund with no issues. There's a specific phone number that is emailed to you for contacting assistance. They were so kind and understanding. Will be booking soon.."
"A very rustic, idyllic spot along the south fork of the Payette river in Idaho. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Private, hot tub in the back was great, and even more spectacular was the scenery all around! Priced right. Lisa, the proprietor was great. Highly recommended!!! Hope to return!!!"
"It is advertised for private access to the pool but really you can just walk in. Save your money. We reserved the pool for Sunday evening and when we arrived the pool had numerous people in it and more walking in. I text the owners requesting a refund which they agreed to do but it has not happened. I had nothing but pushback from them. I was told "there should not have been other people going in and yet sometimes you will have to stand your ground as a pool attendant would raise cost significantly." So, not only do you pay to have private access to a pool you are also suppose to enforce their policy and advertisement. They sit back and take the money and do not conduct their business with any degree of integrity. Save your money.. There are many other options for hot springs in the area."
