"This is my new favorite place. What an amazing experience. The portions are huge and made to perfection. Please make sure to have time when you come eat as everything is made when you order it so it's as fresh as possible. The booths are beautiful and make for a unique dining experience. The owners are the kindest people and work so hard to make sure your experience is amazing. I'm so thrilled to have a place like this in Spokane. Please forgive my photos we ate the food before I thought of taking a picture."
"Family run, Emran Restaurant and Market transports you to Afghan culture with its delectable and diverse menu and adjacent market. Arrive early to sit at a pillowed table, as it’s relaxing and we never felt rushed. All menu items were delicious, so be adventurous. Emran exudes a calm vibe encouraging you to slow down, enjoy tasteful and authentic food, and absorb the care and love that this family adds to the expanding Spokane restaurants. Flavors are unique and spice levels can leveled up for those who like heat."
"First time at this restaurant, which is the first Afghan restaurant in Spokane. Excellent food... definitely tasted fresh and flavorful. There are booths that offer a traditional dining experience, or tables. There's a grocery/gift shop on the other side of the dining area. Great folks working there."
"Wife and I tried it out today and it was great! Owner let us know right away our food would be 25+ minutes and we really appreciated that. It was worth the wait and obviously had been made to order. The portions were giant especially for the price. We had the lamb kabobs with bread, the bolani and manto. The manto was really neat, first time having dumplings that way. We left with plenty of leftovers to enjoy later. Can't wait to go back and try more!"
"Wow, what a delightful surprise to find in Spokane! This hidden gem needs to be featured in the Inlander or the newspaper. We'd never had Afghan cuisine before, but after the delicious lunch today, we're planning our next visit. If you like Greek, Indian, Moroccan, or Middle Eastern food, you'll like this. Give it a try! Our favorite dishes were the Bolani (very filling), Manto, and the Pulau. The beef in the Pulau was fall-off-the-bone tender, and the rice was perfectly seasoned with the sweet raisins. I'm ordering that again! The portions were quite generous, and we took a few boxes' worth of leftovers to-go. It does take 20 min or so for the food to be made, but it is well worth the wait. While you wait, you can browse the adjacent shop filled with imported snacks, spices, housewares, clothing and accessories, even rugs. After eating, we ordered freshly-made flatbread to go, which was wonderful (and huge)! The owner and his wife (the talented chef) were friendly and pleasant to talk to. We hope to return soon!"
