Reviews of St Vincent de Paul Thrift Store
"As many others have mentioned this thrift store has completely fallen off the wagon and now charges for their “vintage” clothing… You can find Kirkland branded clothing here selling for 2x the amount it is brand new. Service has become garbage too. Melinda up front is rude, condescending, and snappy! Lighten up ma’am! She rambles on and on and on about not being “in charge of the signs” when asked how much something costs. I genuinely don’t care who’s in charge of your signs. Just don’t be rude. This thrift store is not helping any low income people either. I first hand saw this woman attempt to buy a shower accessibility handle and couldn’t because they wanted an insane price for it- again, just as much as a new one. God bless you Melinda and St Vinnies!❤️"
"I used to shop here weekly and this USED to be my favorite thrift store. A year or 2 ago, I could easily fill up my cart and spend $100 every time I shopped here. Now, I avoid shopping here because the prices have become OUTRAGEOUS. I can find similar items Brand New elsewhere at half the cost! I was floored the last time I went in. Every item I wanted to take home did not have a price tag under $20. This is a thrift store... Not a high end resale company. The items donated came in at no cost to your company. I will no longer donate to a greedy company like St. Vincent de Paul or Goodwill. Good luck staying in business with those outrageous prices. If the items cost too much, people will walk away. This is one of those instances. Thrift stores are typically shopped at by the lower income and middle class demographic. This is not the place for Greed. Whoever is running this show, needs to seriously reconsider their business choices. I know a LOT of people who feel the same."
"This used to be one of the most accessible thrift stores in the area but when I walked in today I saw many tags listed as "vintage" that were 1. Not vintage and 2. Worn out, cheap materials. ALL priced above $20. This baby onesie was literally $24.99. I actually could not believe my eyes. What is the point of a thrift store if the prices aren't accessible? I saw a sweater listed for $20.00 because it was "vintage." It didn't even have wool or any material that could keep anyone warm. Truly have never seen something like this. You can get new, unused clothes for the same as what they charge. It's so disappointing."
"I absolutely love thrift shopping and have been doing so for years. Within the last 6 months to year at the CD’A St. Vincent De Paul’s store the prices have sky rocketed! A brand named, stained hat is now $19.99?! Almost every price tag I looked at I laughed & kept walking. You can easily get some of the items for way less, brand new. The worker up front was very rude when I asked about the now rising prices and she told me “it doesn’t seem to affect the store” Well, I had to chuckle. I have never seen so many isles of not purchased clothing that I have no doubt will continue to sit. Books… don’t even get me started. $20-$50 for a used book?! Also, whoever leaves the responses to the reviews, it’s cringey to read your responses back to other feedback. I really don’t like being negative but people have to say something, it’s getting way out of control thinking you will sell even half of the items for the prices you’re asking. Best of luck, you will need it."
"Over priced clothes. $100 brand name shoes that were completely worn out. Fur coat for $150 that was stained and missing buttons (smelled like smoke). I understand trying to make a profit but for these prices I can buy new. The furniture is expensive, scuffed, and missing pieces. The staff is sometimes nice depending on the day. Not worth the trouble."
