"STAY AWAY FROM THIS SO CALLED DOCTOR. It amazes me that he's still in practice. What a disgusting person. He did over the max of ECT on my father, to the point my dad couldn't even remember his own children. Then, Dr. wanted to talk my dad into doing MORE ECT treatments a few years later. This "dr" is extremely rude and absolutely hates it when a family member comes in and stops him in his nonsense treatments. He will gaslight you, he will try and manipulate patients. That "Dr" thought he'd ask my opinion on ECT, so taking the education I had on it, I told him it was a horrible treatment for my dad and he's crazy for suggesting it again, but that "Dr" cut me off and started telling me I didn't know what I was talking about and tried to argue with me in front of my father. I had to leave the room out of respect for my dad. My dad finally went to a new psyc Dr and found out he was not only on TOO MANY medications, but all the wrong ones for his diagnoses. STAY AWAY FROM THIS GUY, HE IS A QUACK!!"
"Just the worst doctor I have ever seen, in every way possible! Please steer clear of him!"
"When you see a bunch of people saying the same things about somebody, it's a good sign to take note. I was scheduled with Dr. Nowotny on in what was probably, technically, an emergency basis through Compass Health after their poor organization left me suddenly outside the care of a psychiatrist with no refills. I firmly believe the situation still counts as abandonment and I am not proud of how angry I got but I demanded to talk to a supervisor. Well a one Ryan Evergill, the Supervisor for Compass Health returned my call after leaving a voice message and he set up the appointment the very next day in the morning. He talked up Dr. Nowotny greatly and I was hoping to finally get somewhere with treatment and moving forward. Dr Nowotny made a decent initial impression, he seemed a little scatter brained and almost immediately needed help accessing some records that hadn't pulled over. All very familiar things, honestly, it felt like he would be a relatable provider. If you've never experienced what was basically a shouting match with a doctor 20 minutes after meeting them, then I recommend Dr Nowotny. If you want somebody to say that a side effect is known from a medication but that it doesn't actually happen, then I recommend Dr Nowotny. If you want a passive aggressive doctor that bullies you into accepting his "recommendations" then I recommend Dr. Nowotny. This man has single handedly made my mental health worse in a 45 minute appointment than any of the other life events that have happened in the last year, which include but are not limited to; helping a loved one file, fight, and appeal a disability claim, marriage, a child with behavioral issues, recurring issues of falling asleep at the wheel, a repossession of a vehicle, having to plan out food pantry runs to not go hungry for a week AND MORE! 45 minutes with this man was more stressful than anything else I have ever experienced. My hackles were raised, I felt disrespected, I felt talked down to, I felt like I was being threatened, verbally and physically, I would testify in a court of law that I believed he would hold my medications hostage if I had disagreed with him. At several points during the appointment he leaned forward and placed both hands on the desk like he was about to shoot up quickly or otherwise explode. Think of that stereotypical posture of a slimy evil CEO when the mask falls off and he's openly berating somebody while still at his seat, hands pressed against the desk and elbows raised like a cat setting up for a pounce. I told him one of my current medications was causing dizziness and nausea even at very low doses and I wanted to come off it; it turned into him telling me to just lower the dose and take it twice a day. When I explained to him that the same side effects happened with the lowest dose he threw his hands up and yelled like a child that it was my medicine, I could stop if I want to and made a snide remark about how he suggested multiple ways to help the issue but I was being "resistant". I repeatedly tried to steer the conversation to discussing medication for the ADHD diagnosis that COMPASS HEALTH NETWORK gave me after 8 hours of psychological testing and he had the gall to say something along the lines of "ADD normally manifests in childhood, I don't think you have it"; while holding a 14 page report detailing how TWO licensed clinical Psychologists believed that I had been medically neglected and was able to mask symptoms into adulthood. He continuously denied the conversation and wouldn't give any reasons why. He is manipulative, he will gaslight you, he will talk about tweaking the "recipe" for your meds like he's a meth cook and overall my impression isn't just that he's a rotten doctor, but probably a pretty terrible person. I do not recommend this doctor. I do not recommend this doctor. I do not recommend this doctor. I do not recommend this doctor. I do not recommend this doctor. Stay the hell away from this awful man and let his rage drive him into an early grave where he can no longer torment anybody else."
"Saw this doctor for the first time and I will not be going back. He told me that I needed to use the proper medical jargon when describing my symptoms. He would stop and correct me after he would ask ME a question. Told me I needed to be on the highest dose of my medication despite me telling him I didn’t like the symptoms at that high of a dose. He blew me off and said that is not possible. Basically disregarded everything I had to say. My appointment was also over an hour late. It was a nightmare. His office staff were lovely. The Dr. is a disgrace."
"Saw him a number of years ago, but was so terrible I have to post now. He's ask me a question, then when I answered he said that wasn't answering what he was asking. I guess he was trying to lead me to say something specific. Another time he took a phone call in the middle of my appointment. For a while I went just to get my meds so I wouldn't get withdrawal symptoms if I missed them. It wasn't helping. Eventually I stopped going because I was sick of him acting so disinterested in helping me. You're better off going elsewhere. Anywhere. Literally anywhere else."
