Jolly Mill Park 31630 Jolly Mill Drive, Pierce City, MO 65723
About the Business
Jolly Mill Park, located at 31630 Jolly Mill Drive in Pierce City, Missouri, is a private historical park open to the public for recreation. This park is not part of a state or local recreation/conservation program, but it holds significant cultural importance to Southwest Missouri and is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. Visitors can enjoy picnics, playgrounds, and explore time-period buildings within the park. There are also various organized events held throughout the year.
In addition to its historical significance, Jolly Mill Park is also a popular fishing spot managed by the Missouri Department of Conservation. The Capps Creek White Ribbon Trout Area offers four miles of stream stocked with fish, allowing fishermen to harvest up to 4 trout per day. Bass can also be found in the creek.
Originally built in 1848 as a whiskey distillery, the mill survived the Civil War and transitioned into a grist mill in 1870. The town of Jollification, which grew around the mill, was largely destroyed during the war and eventually dissolved when the railroad bypassed it. The mill continued to operate until 1973, when it was purchased by the Jolly Mill Foundation in 1983.
Under the care of "The Friends of Jolly Mill," the mill and its surrounding land have undergone extensive restoration to create a family-friendly park with period buildings to replicate the town of Jollification. Visitors to Jolly Mill Park can enjoy the rich history, natural beauty, and recreational activities offered at this unique tourist attraction.

"Nice park. Good place to bring your family and have picnics. $5 tours during the week. Good for fishing and pictures. Sign days its NOT dog-friendly (which they don't tell you until you get there). We drove over an hour to visit only to find out when we PULLED IN that no dogs are allowed. However, there were 2 stray/park-owned dogs running around the park and clingged to us/our dog like gnats. So, its worse if you DO happen to bring your dog, as I did. Those dogs wouldn't go away. I've also heard that they DO allow CERTAIN breeds of dogs during the week. Just to be safe, avoid bringing your dog; It can really ruin the visit."
"Beautiful Mill and park area. Great for family and kids too."
"Beautiful place, very peaceful and clean too. There was a small admission fee but it was so worth it. Also it wasn't crowded at all. Great place to have a picnic or go fishing or both!"
"Great place to take the family. Beautiful river and park. Several pavilions to eat at or hang out. Also has a trail to walk around the area."
"Took the family over the weekend, pretty place to take pictures, husband didn't have much luck with the fishing, way to many snakes so be really caution"
