"one of my best childhood memories was taking dance at Betty Tillitson . that was 45 yrs ago, wow. my niece who turns 20 this month also took dance there. my 7 yr old niece starts in a couple weeks. Betty is the kindness most patient lady is have ever known. I look back and think how did ahe handle off us 5 yr olds. she never raised her voice and was always so encouraging. I learned tap, jazz, acrobatics and ballet. "Betty Tillotson Studio of Dance is more than a dance studio, though it is certainly that. It is a community of artistic, talented, and wonderfully supportive people. Founder Betty Tillotson provides an incredible legacy, and Lorna Sherer shares her amazing talent. The dance instruction is technique-based and and includes traditional ballet and tap instruction and trendier jazz and hip hop. I watched my daughter dance for years - it became her passion. I watched the patience with which Miss Betty and Miss Lorna taught the 3 year-olds and marveled at the grace and skills the dancers developed over not-that-long a time. The studio community also provided a safe-haven for my daughter during the turbulent middle school years. Most importantly, my daughter learned resilience, compassion, and self-confidence. My daughter had so much fun that I took classes, too. Time, distance, and injuries have side-lined me, but I hope to return. And let's face it: music, dance, and fun people? How better to spend one's time!?!"
