"I was Anna’s client from 2016 to 2017 when she was still at Brookside Counseling. Anna started parts work with me and opened the door for the realization that I have a dissociative disorder. She then proceeded to tell me that she would no longer take my insurance and the lowest she could go for sessions was $90 when I was paying $15. All she cares about is money. I remember one group therapy where she brought jars and shredded money and had us fill the jars to “attract abundance”. How is this helpful? I needed coping skills to manage my panic attacks and SUICIDAL THOUGHTS. Anna refusing to take insurance anymore led me to be without a therapist at my worst decline in mental health. I was intensely suicidal when she told me she wouldn’t see me for less than $90, but did she care? NOPE. She guilt tripped me about how she needed more money for her kids — who already attended private school and lived in BROOKSIDE. Every group therapy was just an excuse for Anna to act cliquey with all of HER clients, while alienating the rest. I didn’t get the help I needed. I felt like an outcast, even though I was her client, because I wasn’t a part of her client “clique”. I wouldn’t recommend Anna to my worst enemy. Her stopping working with insurance while providing barely any sliding scale ($90-$120 was what she offered) was what pushed me off the deep end. She doesn’t care about truly helping people. She cares about her ego and APPEARING to be a good person and therapist. I am disgusted and appalled that she is allowed to stay in business. I will be contacting the necessary people to make sure Anna will never do this to another person again."
