"Sadly I was not pleased with my experience. When I called and spoke with the owner for booking, I was told it would be 38/hr for cleaning so I booked. My mistake was that I didn’t look on the website, and it is 38/hr PER CLEANER, so I actually paid $114 an hour for three cleaners. The work is done in less time with more cleaners, so I guess it “balances out”. However, my second concern is that it took 6 paid hours (meaning if one professional did it, it would have taken 6 hours that I was billed for) to clean my 700 square foot apartment. My apartment was completely empty for this move out cleaning, so the only “extensive” things that needed to be done were the oven and fridge. I could have done the work in 4 hours and I’m no professional, OR I could have let my apartment charge me a flat rate of $150 for not having it cleaned. However I was under the assumption it was 38/hour and one professional could have done it in 3-4 hours, and I was trying to support local business. I gave them two stars instead of one because they came out in a snow storm, which was appreciated, but I feel the cleaning is average, the pricing is deceitful, and the quality should be better. Either way, make sure you get an estimate. If my 700 square ft apartment was $228, I cannot imagine the pricing on an average sized house."

"I have used extra step for all cleaning purposes for the past 10 years. From day to day cleaning to cleaning up after parties this company does it all and does it WELL! They are quick to respond to inquiries and always very prompt when coming to clean for me. They service a number of my friends and family in the Saint Louis area. I have friends who work for the company as well and they say they’ll never leave. Michelle is beyond accommodating for her customers and her employees. They are very respectful and do make changes when they receive feedback from customers and that is rare in many service fields these days. "Incredible. Not only do they make my life easier doing a job that I have no time to do, they accommodate my schedule as well as spoil my dogs and children. They do a superb job cleaning and I love that they are here and gone fast. I work from home so this is a major selling point about them for me. I don't have to be interrupted with the constant vacuum noise while trying to hear a phone conversation. If I want something unique or different, they are always eager to please without hesitation. I have had several other cleaning companies in the past and they have their way of doing things -almost robotic. I like that Extra Step treats my home like its their home. I highly recommend them."
