"Absolutely horrible. Completely incompetent and disorganized. I understand you sending your child here because of lack of options. I hope you're a strong parent because if they choose your child to be one the one's singled out the staff will make your life and child's a living nightmare. They will belittle your child into thinking they are worthless. They will tell you what you want to hear and then do the opposite. Policies and procedures will be molded to fit the schools whims. They will flat out lie to you. Top to bottom the staff here is a complete disaster."
"I don't hate school, but same time I do hate it, like 50/50. The school does offer everything that deaf or hard hearing needs. Most teachers are boring once you reach high school, and I don't like it. School for me is a 50% mess for me and I have to go through it until I graduate. It is kinda painful to watch. The ksd school rule is hard for me, but public school is easy (not during covid-19)."
"Awesome! I know someone who went here and it was an amazing experience for them, except for a certain D teacher S"
"The class of 1957 visited Amelia Earhart Birthplace Museum today, the guest wete so delightful. We had a wonderful time, must say they all made me feel so happy. Hope they come back!"
"KSD offers quality instruction using American Sign Language. They offer full access to a visual language for the Deaf or Hard-of-Hearing (D/HH) student, not only in the classroom, but also at after-school events and socialization with other D/HH students between classes, at lunch, at recess, and dormitory (if you live too far from Olathe). Through the use of a visual language, they can learn alongside peers and thrive emotionally, socially, and academically in a language-rich environment. Reach out to KSD today and see what they have to offer your little one. You will be glad you did!"
