"Boone Elementary in Center has been a great CHOICE for our son. He has recieved the additional support required for his educational and personal growth and well-being; this includes literacy tutoring and behavioral/emotional regulation. (Much appreciated after we'd tried KC charter concepts AFIA and Citizens of the World where assistance or accommodations seemed lacking.) We have also utilized Boone's LINC program and love the after-school elective activities such as chess club and intro robotics. Nice recent upgrades to the building; very well maintained. Tremendous, attentive staff. The overall size and attitude of the Boone community are fantastic. Proud to be with this Center District public school!"
"My review is on the JV baseball coach We played the Yellowjackets this evening, and I have to say their JV coach is one of the most professional, polite, and even keeled coach we have ever played on the HS level. Never yelled, or raised his voice. Always spoke kindly to our players, even complimenting some on making good plays. Class act all the way around, and his players follow his lead as well. Very enjoyable game to watch!"
"When my daughter was enrolled in Center I thought they were just fine. Some things a student may have gotten away with in a mediocre or not so good school and school district the student wasn't able to here at Center or the district and I appreciated that. I feel in a few difficult situations or times when my daughter was enrolled they were right there front and center offering assistance and guidance."
"Let me first note that my great nieces (who temporarily lives with me) has not started ELEMENTARY school yet. The school/school district is out of order already. It was informed to me that before my great nieces would start school, a series of paperwork would need to be filled out and a home visit would be conducted. Okay, no problem. I followed protocol and did what was asked. When the home visit was going to be performed it should have been communicated to me that a THOROUGH INVESTIGATION was going to be conducted. The problem with this INVESTIGATION was that I was not home during this INVESTIGATION. My niece (my great nieces mother) was home along with the children. The "INVESTIGATIONAL OFFICER" went throughout my home WITHOUT MY PERMISSION. I did agree to a home visit but I did not agree for the officer to go up my stairs, TO MY BEDROOM(s) and investigate. I feel very violated and I will be taking this up with the school board. It feels as thoughgh I was investigated by Child Protective Services (CPS) without having done anything wrong! THIS should be called an investigation instead of a home visit. If an investigation was going to be done, the owner of the house should have been home. Again I am HIGHLY UPSET and I will be contacting the school board. That was unacceptable"
"Center is a wonderful school district. The school offers excellent curriculum, has social clubs, have football team, Basketball team, soccer team, band and other amenities to engage students. It's the student job to respect their teachers, turn in their homework timely, which builds up time management skills and take advantage of opportunities provided to them. Remember, morals and values starts at home. If a child disrespect parents, they will disrespect their teachers. Parents needs to instill values of respect, parents should participate in school activities which builds energy and enthusiasm and encourage students to be better and want to exceed, turn in homework and better themselves. As parents, we need to encourage our kids to set goals and aim higher, be more involve with our kids, and every now and then reach out to staff and inquiry about students performances. The district is nice, the building is nice, & the environment can be even better, but once a gain, as parent it falls on us to teach kids not to bully one and another, raise awareness about drugs and the effects. Remember, its the teacher job to educate, yet if there is an issue, most staff will work with YOU and child to help get student back on track."
