Reviews
"Cool stop to get out and stretch. The short walk has an audio tour explaining the area when you scan the QR code. The Ruts you get to walk through are bigger than I would have expected! Would recommend."
"Cool place. Good description of the history. They even preserved the wagon tracks of the Santa Fe Trail. You can see pretty much everything in 30 minutes."
"Really interesting site for those interested in John Brown history. Right up there with Hudson OH. Alton IL and Harper's Ferry WV. The Iron gate in the picture is under construction by local blacksmiths who love the site. We met them and they are very dedicated to making the site even more interesting to visit."
"Some of the best remnants of the Santa Fe Trail in Kansas. A nice walking path let's you walk right into the ruts, which are in a field of native prairie."
"Beautiful place with a great history! Standing in the wagon ruts of the Santa fe trail is quite amazing thinking about the men and women that came so long before you. The park is open everyday from Dawn until dusk and holds events at certain times of the year. A nice, quiet place to spend a few hours of your day on a self guided tour of the grounds. This is the site of the first battle between free State supporters and proslavery supporters in 1856, and is credited by many historians as being the first battle of the civil war."
