"This is a beautiful park located in small town Edgerton, KS. Clean bathrooms, nice playground for kids, water fountains. The park grounds and trails are very nice and modern. There is ample places to have a picnic including under gazebos with benches and seating available. There are trails that are paved and also some that are traditional dirt trails but the dirt trails were closed when I visited, although it was a sunny day and it had been awhile since any recent precipitation so I can only imagine there was some type of maintenance going on. This would really be a perfect park but in my opinion they picked a terribly poor location. Our entire time at the park and while on the walking trails we could hear loud construction vehicles and beeping noises from the nearby Edgerton quarry which is literally right next to the park to the north. It’s extremely annoying and hard to ignore because it was constant. Semis and large trucks were frequently coming and going, reversing caused the beep noises and also there were loud sounds of rocks and materials being dumped. I understand industry like that is necessary and vital for the country, but it was an incredibly poor choice to build such a nice modern park right next to such an annoyance. I assume most of the positive reviews ignore this fact because there isn’t much else this nice in the immediate area and quite frankly it’s probably one of the only nice places to visit for locals in general. But if you visit this park during normal business hours be prepared to feel like you’re in a construction site. This is not a place to escape into the wilderness whatsoever. I’ve been to parks in the middle of much larger metro areas before and didn’t have these issues."
"This place is AWESOME! Such a hidden gem. About a mile off the interstate and insanely beautiful. I love how everything is built to look “natural”. Our kids will play here for hours, and even I have a great time."
"Went for a nice nature walk around the Quarry Loop walking and biking trail. You can tell it used to be farmland fairly recently. The 2 large silos is only part of it. We saw what appeared to be an old steel tank of some sort. Some old pig panel fencing laying on the ground. A household hot water tank laying dangerously close to the trail. We also saw multiple types of birds, a small lizard, and some grazing deer. Oh, and a squirrel. We also came across 3 different people biking the trail. The largest part of the trail is under the canopy of trees. Parts of the trail are fairly rugged. The trail goes behind a rock quarry... Lots of natural bed rock on parts of the trail. Most of the trail is just dirt. So you get the full wilderness experience. Some of the trail runs along side Martin Creek. But the parts that currently have water in them are inaccessible due to trees and vegetation. It took about 3 hrs at a very relaxed pace. I will do it again. I still want to get to the I-35 underpass part. Ran out of time on this trip."
"My family and I are enjoying it. Very nice private restrooms. Two covered shelter houses. Two small splash pads with sand pits and best part they added a shelter over it . They have a Nature playground and paved trails."
"I have been here quite a few times since discovering it! Our family has hiked a number of the single track trails. My 70 year old parents could easily handle one of the nice wooded ones. We keep on returning. So worth it. They are protective to maintain the trails so if it’s rained a lot the wooded hiking/biking trails are closed. But there is still quite a bit paved, just not under the tree canopy."
