"Lived here for 2 years. Nice lofts and good views are consistently outshined by terrible management. Good luck getting anyone to answer your emails or calls, or to even find someone physically in the office. Pool/rooftop was open for maybe 3 months out of the 24 months I lived there. Trash service consistently leaves the hallways with bits of trash and leaked liquids. Small and completely bare-bones gym. I do want to give a shout out to the maintenance guy for his friendliness and doing good work."
"My boyfriend and I recently moved into Windows Lofts and we absolutely love it! The price per square footage we are paying in rent is absolutely unbeatable for this prime location. Our loft is stunning with 20 ft warm-toned wood ceilings, exposed brick, and a nice grey/blue accent wall that management had painted for us before we moved in - and for free! I read a lot of reviews about bad management, but our experience with the leasing manager was nothing but great! So far the amenities are awesome (including trash pick up, and a decent sized gym and rooftop pool both with an amazing view)! We both work near the Lightwell building in downtown KC and the commute is around 15 minutes (10ish minute walk to the streetcar and a 5 minute ride). 11/10 would recommend Windows Lofts to anyone and everyone. I’ll be sure to update my review if anything changes, but I don’t anticipate that it will!"
"I flew to Kansas City from Florida to tour windows lofts august 2020 with very hopeful intentions to move in. When touring, I explained to the leasing agent that I needed to make a decision and sign a lease quickly to secure a place while in town. The leasing agent explained that there were plenty of units available for my desired move in time. I tried calling, and following up via email multiple times for a week with no response. After receiving no response, I chose to move into a different loft in the crossroads. After living one year in Kansas City, I had heard that windows lofts changed management and were more responsive now (primarily based on online reviews). I went on a second tour in April 2021, with hopes to move into windows, yet again. It was true that there was different management. However, unfortunately it was not any better. Once again I was told I would be updated on available apartments as i expressed i was ready and willing to sign a lease. I was never updated, never received a call back when I tried reaching out, etc. It has been three months with still no response. At this point in time i have once again chosen to live somewhere else. I can’t even imagine what the response time would be as a Resident if I had any issues or needed assistance from management. Truly a disheartening experience"
"I would never recommend Windows Lofts to anyone. I live on the top floor, and when I first moved in, I thought I had found a great apartment in the Crossroad of Kansas City due to the view, wood and steel beamed high ceilings, and exposed brick walls. However, the fitness center/gym is located above my unit and is not properly sealed. I can hear every medicine ball and weight drop hit the floor with such force that it shakes my entire apartment and knocks pieces of brick and mortar off my walls. I can also hear people who are using the gym grunt, groan, talk to one another, play music, and watch TV easily as if they were standing in my apartment. I have left several voicemails and sent numerous emails to the Windows Lofts staff and have even had a discussion with them about the issue, and they have barely acknowledged my concerns let alone done anything to fix the issue. Further, when they have cleaned the gym floor with cleaning solution due to the COVID-19 pandemic (they only closed the gym temporarily after being forced to shut it down by the city), the cleaning solution drips from the gym floor through my ceiling and into my apartment. I also made them aware of this issue, and they have done nothing to solve the problem. Even further, my ceiling now leaks water whenever it rains. The management staff probably wouldn't even know if my apartment was flooded because they are never in the office and don't respond to emails, voicemails, or service requests, so something tells me they won't fix this issue either, and I will likely be forced to move as soon as I can find a new apartment. My kitchen sink has been completely broken now for over a week, and I have yet to receive a response to my service request indicating when it will be fixed. Lastly, the Windows Lofts rooftop pool, which they tout as one of their proudest features, has remained closed all summer, supposedly due to problems with the roof that required construction (maybe that is why my roof leaks?) and the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the Windows Lofts pool is the only pool in the Crossroads area that is not open this summer during the pandemic. The Windows Lofts staff has been the most incompetent and unresponsive management staff that I have ever encountered in my thirty years of existence on this planet. I am normally not a review person and have never left an online review in my life, but I felt compelled to leave a review for Windows Lofts to warn everyone from renting an apartment here. If I can save just one person from renting an apartment with Windows Lofts, my time spent writing this review has been more than worth it. I truly wish I could give it zero stars."
"I’ve lived in KC for 5 years and this has by far been the worst experience in terms of management. The building and location is awesome. Management is essentially non existent. The don’t work in the office in the building, so you never see them. Which would be fine if they would ever respond to an email. My roomate and I have sent 3-4 emails in regards to get his call box to work. They either reply 2 weeks later and don’t even acknowledge the issue or just don’t reply at all. The rooftop pool was the biggest selling feature of this apartment. With everything going on in regards to covid I figured there would be some delay restrictions etc. I sent an email in regards to opening the pool ( or at least outdoor area to utilize grill). 2 weeks later they sent out a mass email to every (most likely due to overwhelming angry emails) stating construction would start in June and take two weeks. We are now in the second week of July and literally nothing has been done up there except the tarps off so now you can see the mossy water. Plus wasn’t construction considered an “essential business” during covid? I had better customer service and management at my apartment that was 600 dollars a month and didn’t even have central air conditioning. They categorize the apartment as “luxury” but the management is far from that. I would suggest taking your business down to piper lofts, same building, same style, better location, EXTREMELY better management."
