"Wouldn’t let him build a bird house. My bathroom remodel was a complete scam (*see below). The sort of contractor I was warned about. I’ve had to fix most of what he touched in a bathroom remodel. Used cheap, builder grade parts he passed off as major brands. One pro has suggested one shower fixture was actually used. Had have shower leaks fixed at my expense. Have had to have plumbing repaired. Having to repaint (watered down flat paint). Mismeasured carpet; mismeasured sink; mismeasured shower door; shower door hung backwards all had to be corrected. Yes he fixed them, but those sort of things should never happen.. LIES a lot. RUN, RUN, RUN away. I wish I’d never met this man.-RESPONSE UPDATE - Attached are pictures of the runs in the paint. The paint was supposed to be eggshell. It is flat paint. I have the cans. This was AFTER he was made to repaint it once. Other pictures show the gaps in the shower AFTER it was "repaired" but before I paid another contractor. The shower stem pictured is supposed to be 3 yrs old in a house with a water softener. We were charged $265 each for name brand showers. I don't recall the name he promised. What we got are Home Depot store brand that retail for $75-125 each and were discontinued the year installed. The calcium build up in one is so bad I have to replace it, only to find out it or the cartridges are no longer available. Plumber tells me he can't see any way that shower was installed new based on appearance. It's an opinion. FACT - It is NOT what I paid $265 for. May end up tearing out the wall - again to replace shower control. And we were "guilted" about him having to pay for the countertop HE mismeasured (after we refused his $500 discount offer). However when we called Onyx for warranty work because the counter was installed too quickly after manuf and needed repolishing, we were told that they had replaced it already at NO CHARGE TO THE CONTRACTOR. "He said, she said." One fixed it. The other stopped answering calls. Yes, he has good reviews. We did our homework before hiring. Judge the results for yourselves. As for receipts, none were EVER produced when demanded including a final statement of work. I had to create my own for him to sign. NOR did he receipt any of the cash he demanded after nearly each day's work until we refused any more. And the shower exhaust fan that was first just a hole in the shower ceiling with no hose on the fan. It was "fixed" with a hose that just laid on the insulation and required ANOTHER contractor to vent outside.Judge from results. I stand by my factual statements. *I'm guessing the contractor doesn't like my use of the term "fraud". Again, you judge. This was to be a complete job. Fixtures, hinges, knobs. We would walk into our new bath, ready to go. Mr Ward encouraged us to make the shower larger and install a corner bench, based on the existing construction and among other things, install can lights above the vanity. We liked this. His cost was not the cheapest by far, but we were persuaded by these niceties and the reviews. Just before work started, he told us the larger shower would require re-tiling the floors for an extra $1,000, but we could save a little if we bought the tile direct. We did at his vendor, but he still charged us an additional $1,000. Then he told us that he was unable to install the can lights that were in his quote because it would require him to do work in the attic and run electrical connections. Duh? So that nicety went away. Then we were told that while the shower was larger, he could not move the faucets, so they are installed off center. Turns out the bench couldn't be installed because of the off-center plumbing. After spray painting the knobs and pulls, he left saying they are never included in work. Making promises that can't be delivered in order to get a job is a scam."

"Ted Ward Construction does impeccable work, it’s evidenced buy the photos and the five star reviews. I’ve know Ted for years and would totally trust him with any remodeling project or a complete home build."
"I HIGHLY recommend Ted Ward for any construction project!! 5 STARS!! I was introduced to Ted Ward about doing a remodel on a 1902 Colonial Renaissance 8K sqft home in Kansas CIty. The minute I met Ted Ward, I could tell immediately he knew and understood what I was looking for, and keeping the home in the same period and style. He presented us a budget and a time line, and he completed everything before the due date I gave him. Again, UNDER BUDGET!! When did you hear that last!! During the remodel of the home, Ted Ward even gave us advice on certain items that he thought would either save us time and money, or make more efficient, because as we know things pop up that aren't expected. I currently sell luxury real estate in Fort Lauderdale, and South Florida, and wish I had Ted Ward here with me so I could introduce him to my clients. Anyone who saw my finished home in Kansas City was amazed at the talent and details of his craftsmanship. AGAIN, 5 STARS!!"
"Highly recommend Ted Ward! Have had him do various projects on my Historic home over the past 10 years including a complete kitchen gut/remodel; 4 bathrooms restorations, plaster repair, crown molding re-creation/installation, chandelier hanging, hardwood floor repair/install, Speakeasy creation in the basement. He is a man of high integrity, is creative in assisting with remodeling ideas, and extreme honestly."
