Reviews
"Very unsafe.Vehicles are constantly being broken into or stolen day and night. There is no sense of urgency between security or management."
"I’m writing this review after my 13 month lease. I was one of the first people to move into this property and I was optimistic and hopeful. I moved out nearly a month ago and I still haven’t received an update on my deposit. They’ve been ignoring my emails and calls. The building is gorgeous, but living here was joke & I’ll tell you why. The number that is listed on the tenant portal as the emergency contact/after hours contact number literally belongs to a MINOR! (I know because one night called in the case of an emergency and a child answered! SMH) Incompetent, low IQ staff with a nasty attitudes come and go every few weeks. They’ll try to sell you on the amenities but they’ll fail to mention that they’re NEVER open. The staff lack common decent and etiquette with residents. They don’t communicate changes within staff, when common areas are being rented out to the public or when crime is reported IN the building or parking lot. I woke up one morning and the lobby was being used as a polling place for voters WITHOUT notifying any residents. When I quested them about it, then blew me off. The owner Emmett Pearson is extremely rude and talks down to residents constantly. Nobody that is considered staff ever knows what’s going on. They do not move with a sense of urgency at all. A member of management literally asked ME (a tenant) what the address of the building was a week ago. I was appalled that they didn’t know. Speaking of the address, The Rochester has been listened incorrectly on google its entire existence, making it hard for tenants to receive deliveries. On google the address is listed as 4001 Blue Parkway. The correct address is 3949 Dr MLK Jr Blvd. Speaking of deliveries, my $200 package was recently stolen within the building and the property manager Erika Waiser couldn’t have cared less. I literally have had to get the police involved. Every issue is met with a ridiculous bone brained excuse. The walls are thin as paper. I can literally hear when my neighbors sneezes. I’m not exaggerating. They don’t answer emails or return phone calls. They believe all communication with tenants is optional. I’ve been asking for a new water filter for 13 months & counting. They have a blatant disregard for their tenants. Parking is inadequate & unsafe. Evergy recently placed a notice on the building’s front door threatening to cancel services because of thousands of dollars in unpaid bills. I’ve never seen a corporation that was unable to manage their own utilities bills. Rent is high everywhere, but I rather give my money to professional people that respect me."
"I’ve been living at The Rochester apartments for almost a year. The apartments are lovely with high-end appliances, nice cabinetry, quartz countertops and nice flooring. The common areas are well maintained, and it has a very nice and inviting lobby. The Nest (private lounge) is top-notch. The building is very secure. Management does run a tight ship, and in my opinion, it’s needed to keep all of us safe! I do recommend The Rochester."
"The leasing staff is a joke. They have no idea what they’re doing or how to efficiently run an apartment complex. They oversell and undeliver, constantly and confidently. They disregard & disrespect their residents on a consistent basis. The staff is full of excuses whenever something requires their attention. Rude and demanding emails and texts are sent constantly at inappropriate times. (The text message I just received at 11pm, is what prompted this honest review). However, trying to contact or connect with management is next to impossible. The amenities they promise, do not exist! Besides being pretty, the walls are made of paper. I can hear when my neighbor sneezes, amongst other things. It’s really a shame, they had the chance to be awesome but they lack dedication. I’ve been here since the building’s conception & I’m less than impressed with my experience. Do yourself a favor and lease somewhere else. I called to report suspicious activity at 2am. Someone was going in & out of a car. Then they sat in at 2am while it was below freezing outside. They were parked suspiciously in a car I had never noticed in my area. By 2:30am I was back on the phone with them because nobody arrived. They told me to contact someone else. Even though they routinely patrolled my area. They said they had too many other sites to patrol. I’m typing this at 2:35am. Still no patrol car."
"sent an email to resident explaining that scarves, pjs, comfortable wear, ect was not allowed ( it honestly seemed targeted at a specific audience) if i’m paying 1200 anywhere, i can wear anything i please as a grown adult. furthermore, they lied about their parking there barley is any as if they didn’t think about parking when they were building the apartments."
