"The reply by ownership is a complete lie and reinforces dishonest management. Union hill on main 713, 2021-2023 Cons: MICE - On multiple occasions from multiple union hill employees “EVERYONE GETS MICE THIS TIME OF YEAR”. Over one month of increasing mice sightings. NO PEST CONTROL I had to find other accommodations. BROKEN AC for 5-6 weeks during summer - was told on multiple occasions by a union hill employee “EVERYONE GETS AC PROBLEMS THIS TIME OF YEAR”. For over a month my AC wasn’t working IN JULY. THEFT- my apartment flooded and destroyed everything. When I was out of town they moved my things without my consent or notice. Many small valuable items were missing and RECENTLY CONFIRMED AS STOLEN . Pros- The location and neighborhood is great ! The gym is really nice full gym. The area feels nice and safe to walk around. *Multiple examples with evidence of Maintenance/leasing agents covering each others mistakes at the expense of tenants. Ownership is detached and inaccessible."
"I lived at UHOM for a year and loved it. The only reason why I left was due to taking another job out of state! I stayed in a 1 bedroom, and feel that the price was very comparable to other places, especially with the amenities included. I appreciated the gated parking as well. I only had 1 or 2 maintenance requests, and they were fixed in a timely manner. During my whole stay, I never had an issue contacting or communicating with management. Joanne and Kevin were super awesome with the move in/out process as well. I’ve already recommended UHOM as well as the other properties to a few people!"
"We had a horrible experience with the after-hour staff help. I and my 6-year-old daughter came out last evening (Nov 23rd) to dump trash around 6.30 pm. We realized that the wallet we were carrying did not have the main building door key card (due to nanny arrangement during the holiday week, it was not in wallet and was left on Kitchen counter). We called all the numbers including leasing office, after hour security, and emergency maintenance. The leasing office phone no. for after hour operator was not picked after multiple attempts; after-hour security people said they are not responsible for this kind of matter. The emergency maintenance personnel said that she can only sent a dispatch person if the keycard was not working but not if we forgot our key card in. I explained and emphasized out situation that it being the night before thanksgiving only a handful of cars are parked/ only few residents are there at this time, it was drizzling, cold, dark, and my daughter was without a jacket. It was already almost an hour and we could not find any resident entering the building. I requested her if she could send someone to just let us in and take our keycard or even charge us. I told her we have nowhere to go and may have to spend the night out on street all night; there were only 3 apartment lights on in the building. They clearly could help if they wanted. We did not have any money or credit cards on us outside; she spoke to higher authorities, and they decided that they did not want to help me with my kid. I did feel helpless with my kid shivering beside me. At this point I was thinking of calling 911. We have been living in Union hill apartments for more than 3 years now and this is the first time we called afterhours for help. It felt in-human for them not to help us in this situation. We went and spoke to couple of residents in car or passing by, but none were from our building. We finally ended up knocking someone’s apartment window somehow and seek their help to open the main door after more than an hour. It was a traumatic experience. This is a thanksgiving we will remember for a long time. I feel Union hill should have some help in such situations. Update: JoAnne reached out to us personally and tried to offer solutions, in case any urgent situation arise in future. She was empathetic. I have always found her and Kevin having a personnel connection with all the residents. Though this incident will remain as a bad even traumatic memory during our stay at Union Hill, however, on daily basis, I do appreciate the kindness the front office staff shows. It amazes me how Kevin addresses all residents by their names when they come to pick there mail. Wish the after office staff connected with the residents in the same way as the front office staff. Overall, It is our first bad experience living here. We feel safe, apartment complex is great, location is great too, and front office staff is very courteous. Therefore, I am changing my overall rating from 1 to 4 stars. I would have definitely rated them 5 if this incident didn't happen to us."
"I leased: studio, lived there for 14 months, and had all of the amenities offered. Pros: the neighborhood, the clubhouse events, gated community. Cons: small units for the price, sassy receptionist. I moved here abruptly and found myself to be comfortable in my home. I always felt comfortable navigating the union hill area. A big downside for me though is the price for such a small unit & there was constant construction going on during my time there. I understand the price for the area but it’s not what it will be in the near future. I often found myself at odds with Kevin the receptionist. He showed me he throws stones and hides his hands, could be classist.. JoAnne the manager is very considerate and hosts really nice complex parties. I’m grateful to experience a landlord that was fair… Landlords can be traumatizing. I would recommend.. You’ll find comfort in the complex. If you move out though and have questions about things you NEED you will have to harass them."
"First review I've left on google. Wanted to love these apartments but we've had problems since the beginning of our stay in April. We've had 3 separate ceiling leaks from the same issue where water was leaking from our light in the kitchen. We had a leak at our toilet which took over 2 weeks to resolve where we had to constantly dump water out from a bowl. Our dryer has been broken for 4 months and we've been drying our clothes by laying them out on our couch in the middle of winter. I wish these were the only issues but I'll leave them at this. We've loved the people we've worked but these issues are the worst we've experienced at any apartment complex. Update: they did provide some reparations; however, problems have persisted with our apartment. The water leaks we had 5x last year began again this year. We were told the leak was fixed 10 days ago but the leak persisted again. Maintenance was made aware again and told us nothing they could do at the moment and now our ceiling is caving in. Photos bellow. We are welcomed to a flood of water almost every morning and evening periodically for the past month or so."
