Hospital Hill Apartments

"The staff is mostly hands-off, which is typical of a living community centered towards students ready for independent living. The programs that are offered are engaging and fun, and having a gym downstairs is a plus so you don't have to go all the way to campus. Res Life staff is positive and courteous. My major complaint is that there seems to be an insect problem within the complex. Exterminators came into our unit to treat for German Cockroaches after a few sightings, and maintenance informed us that we weren't the only unit that had issues with them. Despite treatments, we're still seeing them; the difficulty with apartment complexes is you'll never really 'get rid' of the issue, you'll just have to reduce their numbers. Unless you're ready to go to war with Gentrol and Alpine WSG, I would recommend looking elsewhere."

"Decent apartment spaces with a good amount of room. The inclusion of a gym is also a nice addition. The only complaint was the condition in which I entered my room. The lights did not work, the toilet was busted and the whole apartment was filthy. It was clear no maintenance/cleaning was done to prepare for new residence. However they were quick to repair all broken appliances was a work order was placed."

"Pretty decent and clean facilities, and sorta hands off staff, which I enjoyed. But the walls are so thin I couldn’t sleep in my room because of loud occupants. They really didn’t enforce quiet hours here and I ended up having to move my bed to the living room because of all the noise."

"Great location and proximity to UMKC and other the rest of the city centers, great amenities (like a common area, a gym, and a shower rooms), and GREAT staff! Maintenance is quick to respond and fix work orders. There is a study room on each floor. The apartments and kitchens are nice. Worth the price!"

"Terrible place to live. They do not care about the people living there, only about the money you give to them. They changed the lock to my door TWICE without telling me or my roommates they were going to do, and so I was locked out with no back up key from them both times. Also they began changing the water system in the middle of the semester and we didn't have water between 8am until afternoon for multiple days. They also lost my mailbox key and I had to go months without access to my mailbox. Management is always slow to act when having issues and make their desk attendance (who are just regular students) do all the work when they don't have control to do a lot. Not worth the $1000 monthly rates. AVOID LIVING HERE."
