"I have never lived in a worst apartment. The apartment is cute looking, but don't be fooled. On our move-in day, they were still working on the apartment, and when we had to move in 3 days later, they refused to pro-rate our rent. The apartment above us leaked and there was a huge stain on the ceiling for the rest of the 9 months we lived there. They walked directly into our apartment without any notice. There was a homeless man living in our basement for several months and when we contacted them, they told us to call the police, even though he was gone during the day when we would notice his stuff. They did add a security door. When we moved out, they offered to let us out of the lease a month early, but when they could not find a new tenant, they turned around and took our security deposit & made us pay extra to cover the rent, stating they couldn't afford to lose the last month even though they told us we could move... we didn't even have keys to it anymore. I paid the extra money because I was so tired of dealing with them and just wanted to be done. I've never had a worst experience renting, and I would recommend anyone looking at this place to run the other way as fast as you can. Cheap? yes, but not worth the security risks."
"Worst apartment and company I have ever dealt with. The day were scheduled to move in the apartment wasn't ready. They didn't tell us that they just told us to come back the following day. We were literally there with our moving truck. So we came back the next day the keys they left us were incomplete and we had to get our mail key from the post office. The AC from the apartment above us started leaking water and left a massive water stain on our ceiling that they said they would paint. They never came back to paint. We had to call to get them to fix our A/C before it would work, our heater in the winter before it would work and we constantly had to deal with vagrants making their home in our laundry room that had an old washer and dryer that were constantly not working. Finally we'd had enough and moved out and they tried to screw us out of our security deposit. These people are absolutely slumlords and scumbags."
"Just an honest review not meant for defamation of character. Just comply to the lease you sign and no problems should be had. Easy to get along with the office if you aren't a problem starter. Not the best but not the worse. On the cheaper rent side and location is good. Would I live here again? Probably yes because it's doable. MAINTENANCE: while they spend money on the outside more than the inside, any Apt issue I reported was addressed in a timely manner. I do feel they only do base requirement for the fix but don't go above that. LIGHTING/SECURITY: Not enough lighting in the breezeway with the stairs. Black locking gates were installed but no springs so they dont close themselves, often finding the gates wide open. Usually the neighbors fault for not taking the time to close it. Can reach over the coded gate and open it with no problem. Exterior brown doors have no locks allowing anyone, including drifters access inside the complex area. INSULATION: High utilities due to bad exterior insulation. New exterior insulation was installed but there's still areas around your apt where air will seep in, just like the patio door which usually let's a lot of air in and so do exterior wall closets- they get so cold. The HVAC air usually wont reach the bedrooms. Floors and walls are so thin you can hear your neighbors esp when they slam that front door (if you get a loud one) You may have a ceiling leak from a previous leak that was "never fully fixed". NEIGHBORS: Mixture of races; quiet & loud ones; introverts & extroverts. But this place has 2 older males that are nosey and creepy, usually will spy into your business then gossip to the other neighbors. They're long long time residents and they can make you feel uncomfortable most times while in your presence. It's not a party complex but it's also not a retirement community. LAUNDRY FACILITIES: Best to go to a Laundromat. Theres 4 washers, 3 work most times. One eats quarters but office will refund. There's 4 Dryers: 2 gas & 2 Electric. Only 1 of each work and 1 of those only works a quarter of The time so take extra money or account for an additional 45 minutes dry time should be expected. Yes they say they all work and they work on them but after they're fixed it'll only run one cycle and be broke again. This went on for 2 years and prolly still is. Access times are only from 9:30am to 9:45pm due to upstairs tenants, which is inconvenient for early risers that dont like doing laundry all day. POOL: It's a facade. It never worked my entire few years there. -maybe half a month. Can't bring guest to it anyway unless they're on the lease because they will be asked to leave immediately. Beats having that amenity, huh? PARKING: Assigned parking but neighbors friends may take your spot or sometimes the neighbors, but finally got better."
"I loved living in these apartments. I moved as a young, single female and never had any issues. Alaina, Jim's daughter, has always been very helpful. The neighbors in my building have been there for many many years and they cared for me during my entire time there. It was very hard to leave Old Westport. The price for the location was unbeatable. They are older apartments, definitely not the cream of the crop but nice nonetheless. I will always have fond memories of the time I spent there."
"This happened 2yrs ago. Jim wife or "office person" was so damn rude to me and my husband!! Do Not Rent Here!! 2yrs before I had a housing voucher Jim agreed to rent to us. However the people who wrote the vouchers WOULDN'T write one on this property. Then 2yrs later I go in to rent an apt and this nasty nasty woman his wife or whatever said we could not rent there. So saying to me if they're rent is guaranteed a sex offender could get in. If not so under the glass. Maybe Jim needs to tell everyone who and what he is. Do Not Rent here!! You will be screwed. I'm so glad I did not and working girl was rude. That tells you of what is to come!!"
