"When I was pregnant with my son I was going through a different health care system. I loved my midwife, but was unimpressed with the other staff I had post delivery. I found Dr. Higginbotham's office while doing a Google search for a different OBGYN. I'm absolutely thankful I did! Dr. Higginbotham has never had a problem answering the questions I had, and was always to the point. He has always been patient, friendly, kind, and helpful. I really enjoy the other staff I've been able to speak with there as well. If I ever have another child, this is the place I want to go through."
"Dr. Higginbotham has delivered all five of my children and I drove four hours so he could deliver my last one as we moved at the end of my pregnancy. He is absolutely fantastic!! He listened to all my concerns and addressed any issues promptly and thoroughly. He was patient, as my very inquisitive husband asked a lot of questions. He and his staff have always been flexible and understanding to our financial situations and very accommodating to meet whatever payments were good for us and that did not put undue burden on our family. He was very protective of me as a patient at our delivering hospital and always seemed to have my best interests in mind, even if that meant missing his own family activities to be with me and my family. He is very dedicated and caring. We will never go anywhere else to have babies!! Thank you for everything you have done for our family!"
"Dr Higginbotham has delivered my last three babies. He's an awesome doctor and not to mention he has really great staff. If I ever got pregnant again (which I won't) I would go to him. He answered all of my questions as did his staff and I never felt stupid."
"The best doctor! He answered all my questions and never made me feel like I had to rush. They always got me in right away if I was worried about something. I drove 6 hours after moving just to get my first 3d ultrasound from him...so that should say something! I'm very surprised he only has a 4 star because he deserves 5 stars!"
"Although Dr. Higginbotham was not the problem in my situation, I would not recommend anyone to go to his facility for prenatal care. It started off well, my first visit actually went really well and I was excited to have a good doctor. Then, at my second appointment I stated that I had applied for medicaid. As soon as I mentioned that they took me into an office to talk to their billing clerk. From there she rudely told me that I should've said to them that I had planned on applying for medicaid to begin with because they "only deliver so many medicaid babies per month." Which, for the record, I had no intention to apply for medicaid in the beginning. I didn't know the benefits of it and already have a primary insurance. That was only the start. So before my third appointment I received a bill from his office for the middle of June. I then realized that my medicaid was approved at the beginning of June. So for my third appointment, I took my bill and my proof of medicaid to the office, for one, because they would need my information, and two, because I was a little confused about the whole situation. I then went into the billing clerks office and said that I had been approved for the medicaid beforehand, and tried asking her about it. The woman then automatically ASSUMED that I was trying to get out of paying my bill, which was not the case. I simply was inquiring about it. From there, things just spiraled downhill. She was very disrespectful to me, and continued to talk over me, and wasn't even trying to listen to what I was saying. She brought up that I had signed a contract stating that I would pay the bill from my first appointment and continued by stating that because I applied for medicaid (as a SECONDARY insurance), I had now become a "charity case." At that point, I got up and left the room because I couldn't believe that this lady who had no idea who I was, how much I worked, or anything like that, had just automatically assumed all these nasty things about me and was so incredibly rude. No person deserves to be treated like that regardless of who you are. Especially a pregnant person. I hope people read this and think twice about going to this facility for their care because they deserve to understand that treating people that way is not okay, especially when their whole job is to take care of people."
