Brentwood Village Apartments 3715 Beck Road, Saint Joseph, MO 64506

"I've lived here a total of 2 1/2 years. In two separate buildings within the complex. Buildings H & J. I've never had any real issues with the management. Any repairs that I needed like my toilet needing fixed, were immediately handled. The fridge went out in the 1st year and it was replaced same day with a new fridge. The 2nd apartment I rented from them was under a different management that, thankfully, doesn't work there any longer and was replaced with the original manager. The apartment was filthy when I came in. The blinds were all torn up. And I was told that the person living there before me did not tidy the place up. I didn't think that was a good excuse, but all repairs were made in a some-what timely manner. Not nearly as fast as the previous management would have handled things as I believe they never would have let me see the apartment in that condition. Throughout the year they will do preventive maintenance (check a/c units, change filters, etc) and will post flyers accordingly. Typically the buildings are quiet and I've noticed that everyone leaves everyone alone. There are quite a few elderly folks (typically on the bottom floors) as well as small kids running around. Overall my building has proved very quiet and respectful. Lawns are maintained weekly (it seems) and trash is picked up about the same time every morning weekly and is included within the rent price. I am just about to end my lease and move into our home so I thought I'd leave a review of my years here! Pros: Quieter, Well-Maintained, All Electric, Good Management, Not a typical college apartment building. Cons: A bit outdated (carpet in both kitchens I've had), older appliances, and cheap carpet. Added after posted: I should also add that there are no pets allowed at the apartments. Meaning, noise and smells from animals are nonexistent. Per the lease agreement all smoking is to be done outside of the apartment units, as well."
