"My son's pediatrician group since birth. He is now 16. We loved Dr. Baysa, she saw him for years. Her popularity is such that it's very difficult to see her for any immediate needs. We instead see Dr. Krahn now, another lovely person that did a great job communicating openly with my teen. These Dr.s are on rotation at NKCH, so there is a lack of appointment availability for sudden illness. I believe they overbook due to demand, and then you end up waiting with a sick kid for an hour. However, when it's your turn, you get the full undivided attention. Take your kids here for well checks, vaccinations, and referrals. Stick to your general practitioner for any common illness that needs immediate antibiotic treatment."
"Dr. Aaron Mayor is a nice doctor and has been there since my daughter was born. But the hospital policy sucks, my daughter had an appointment today and unfortunately her insurance didn’t show up and they told me to pay upfront which I didn’t have the money. The lady just denied my baby to see the doctor and have her vaccination shots. I’m not going back to them even if my insurance sorts out the problem."
"This office is terrible! Every visit besides one of them has taken approximately two hours, including well child checks. The majority, but not all, of the front desk staff are rude. On our final visit to this office we were there for two hours like all of the times before. Spent 30 minutes in the waiting room before being called back and were told the doctor would be in shortly. I assumed it would not be quick based on past experiences but after 45 minutes in the room I stuck my head out to make sure they were aware that we were still waiting. Once the doctor finally came in she informed me that there had been an emergency. If there were truly an emergency the appropriate way to handle that would have been to have one of the three staff members that I found sitting at the desk come in and let me know that our wait would be a little longer today. I find it hard to believe that there has been an emergency every time we have visited the office. Fortunately, we only have one child at this time so I did not have to pick up another child at daycare or from a babysitter because it was 6 o’clock by the time we left our appointment. As I was walking out of the office the front desk was closed-not that I had any desire to make our next appointment. But I felt this was unprofessional. We saw the nurse practitioner twice and one of our visits went smoothly and happened in a timely manner. Also had great experiences with the lactation consultant. The only reason we continued to visit this office after the first few bad experiences was because flu season was so bad this year and they had a separate waiting room for healthy infants-I was not comfortable taking her to our family doctor knowing we would be sitting in a room full of sick people. I would not recommend this place to anyone and will ensure all of my friends that are planning to have children don’t waste their time here. It was also unfortunate that because of the massive amount of time that these appointments took my husband-who would’ve liked to be able to come to them-was unable to leave work for two hours even though he works just a few miles from this office. He would have been more than able to attend had they taken a reasonable amount of time. If I could leave a negative amount of stars I would. Fortunately, our daughter has been healthy so far but I cannot imagine having to wait that long in a doctors office with a sick infant or toddler. I’m not sure what the issue is here if they are booking too many appointments for the amount of staff they have or what the issue may be but I will not be returning here with my daughter or any of my future children."
"I will never bring my children back to this office again! My kids have been seen there since 2012 and my son was recently diagnosed with Flu A. So, I called asking for the preventative Tamiflu for my daughter to which they told me they wouldn’t prescribe it without seeing her first and with it being a Friday, I’d have to wait until Monday to try and make an appointment. At that point she would have been exposed to someone with a positive fluA test for five days. Meanwhile, my husband called his doctor and he said, “No problem.” And we’ve already picked up that prescription. Over 600 people have died this flu season in MO alone. I will not bring my children back to an office who is not willing to help prevent another case of the flu! This is not a narcotic for goodness sake. And I certainly hope all of my other friends who have had bad experiences with this office will write in too. One friend’s daughter was in crisis from her Asthma and her prescription had run out. They refused to fill it and it took five days to be seen. Unacceptable! Goodbye!"
"Went in for a visit with a new doctor we had never seen before, Dr. Krahn. Our appointment time was 11:30. At 12:15 I stuck my head out the door to make sure we hadn't been forgotten. Dr. Krahn came in shortly after, checked out my child and ordered a script. She said it would be pricey, so I asked for the generic. The so-called 'generic' was $162.00 WITH insurance! My husband and I were floored. I called the office and demanded something else. The nurse (who was very kind) said she would call CVS and tell them to fill it as 'ointment' instead of 'cream'. By doing so the price dropped to $12. We are absolutely LIVID that Dr. Krahn did not do this in the first place! Dr. Pittala and Dr. Duncan were AMAZING, but have both since retired. Needless to say after this stunt today we are switching pediatricians. Dr. Krahn does NOT have a family's best interest at heart by gouging them $162 for a script KNOWING good and well there is a much cheaper alternative. This is a perfect example of doctors padding their pocket books by prescribing items they get a kickback for!!"
