"It has been a few years since I was a patient of Russell Tackett, but it was not a good experience. He prescribed me Metronidazole. I told him I had allergic reaction (I developed a rash around my mouth) and he told me that that wasn't a side effect. I told him that the rash developed only after taking this medicine, but he persisted. When I stopped taking the medication, the rash went away, but left a scar that I still have today. In addition, after all of my symptoms went away, he told me to come in once a week for a urine culture just to be sure. I said that made zero sense to come in over the span of a month for something that we already know will be clear AND why would a pay a copay each time for that?? He told me he'd only charge me $5 for each visit. No thanks. Never went back. I discovered later that the issues he told me were just me reading too much on the internet were actually true, and worsened simply because he had no idea what he was doing or the diagnosis. Had he been knowledgeable, he would have had "real" labs performed, not a two minute culture in his back room. Just because a doctor is older and has been in the field for awhile does not make them a pro. Look at their specialties first."
