"Was in recently with my daughters to pick up a couple holds. The shear number of unhoused men just hanging around outside the front doors is staggering. There were a pair standing on the north side of the building smoking and milling around. My kids felt pretty threatened, including asking me if I felt scared because their were way more of them than me. I had to calm them by saying they didn't seem like they were interested in doing wrong, but once can't say in this day in age. Ultimately, I would love to see just a bit more security. Otherwise, what's the point in having a kids section of your kids don't even feel safe walking through the front door?"
"I just had my first visit at Johnson County library in Overland Park on 87th St. I don’t live in Kansas I was visiting. I was very very surprised to see a beautiful library that I assume is paid by taxpayer dollars that has numerous homeless folks, or appears to be homeless folks laying around the entrance outside, and on the inside of the library all over the place with their belongings all over in the same area where children are trying to look at books and teenagers that are trying to do homework. I don’t understand the concept of the homeless shelter, That is used For families and children as a resource for school?"
"The Makerspace is top notch. The team of technicians works well together to accomplish extraordinary projects. If you have an idea but need help approaching it, this is the place to come."
"Edit in November 2023: they got rid of the blocks sadly. Otherwise still a good library. One of the best libraries for Children. The blocks are fun for children. The lady does bilingual story time is amazing and so good with kids, full of energy."
"It has been quite some time since I went to a library. And coming here made me wish I had. This library send to be leagues above the ones inside Kansas City Missouri. My only wish I'd that it was closer to where I live so that if have a reason to visit it and try out it's resources. It has multiple private rooms for whatever your need, ample amounts of tables and computers. I did not guy tour this location, but it appeared to have a children's location inside as well"
