"Didn't hassle me when my male psychiatrist made an inappropriate and incorrect statement and I wanted to switch to a female psychiatrist. As long as you check in, be honest and comply with your meds and groups.. they will work with you. Just be nice. Don't be name calling or rude and nasty with them. They really do want to help."
"After being treated at this clinic every week for around 4 months all I can say is this place will tear you down and make you feel worse than you did before you came. I was referred to the ACT tay group who is supposed to meet 3 times a week, at first the appointments were going well as the team offered me rides to and from the clinic, and were very helpful in the beginning and some of the staff here are very kind. I had began to open up to them about how my living situation had affected my mental health (mainly the bug problems the apartment had). without any explanation or being informed that I was not allowed into the clinic because of the bug problem they began to come to my place and hold my appointments outside my apartment (basically we would stand in the front yard, where my neighbors could see and hear us.) The one time I was instructed to come to the clinic they made me do a blood test outdoors in the back, they do not provide in-person psychiatry visits even though it was offered as a choice (This is true even when I was allowed in the clinic, it is done on a computer screen in an office.) In saying this when I was in between moving out of my old apartment even after I had cleaned and sealed all my items/clothes I was still not allowed in for an in office visit, the appointments felt uncomfortable, disconnected and at times I very much felt humiliated and embarrassed for the way they responded to my episodes and my living situation, which caused my paranoia to get worse as I always felt like there was something crawling on me or like there something wrong with me. The therapist here in all honesty does not act like a therapist at all and I feel did not provide me with any type of support for my trauma and the visits felt more or less like having a casual conversation instead of getting to the root of my problems. During one of my breakdowns I overheard her telling my boyfriend she didn't believe I could get help unless I went inpatient; meanwhile her co worker was able to talk to me and calm me down just fine. The unprofessionalism here is absolutely shocking and sad."
"My daughter had an appointment at 8, which is the time the the office opened. I called 10 minutes before her appointment to let them know we were running just a little bit late. Luckily someone did answer. However, they informed us (the first we heard of this absolutely ridiculous late policy) that they would cancel the appointment at 8:05. I understand you have other appointments but when we showed up at 8:06 and her appointment has been canceled it really goes to show that there is no regard for her mental health or Burrell’s supposed dedication to patient care. These “check ins” with the prescribing doctor generally are less than 15 minute sessions. I’m not even sure they are necessary. He’s not providing any sort of support to her other than the prescription. If this appointment wasn’t a priority to them, I would have like to have known in advance so that we could have saved ourselves the hassle."
"My daughter had an appointment in the morning and when we called to get the number (because we never received one) they kept me in the phone stating that we couldn’t do over the phone, then lied and stated that we were supposed to be in the office. Our last appointment the doctor was on zoom while we were in the office. My daughter drove from Columbia to go to the Sedalia appointment (which they said we had to be there for the appointment) nope it was zoom. I’m fine with a zoom call but they didn’t say that. After they argued with me for 19 minutes, I just said to put me through to the doctor (which was not in office) she transferred me to the lady that she was putting me on hold to talk to quite a few times, and she said I’m 5 minutes late for my appointment!!!! Well Duhhh you had me on the phone this whole time! I’m sorry but this made me so upset. My daughter has gone through entangled someone doing this just blows my mind!"

My daughter dont like to talk to people about her stuff and how she feels but kenisha has made her feel so comfortable that she opens up and enjoys getting to see her and talk to he. She also had a therapist which is very nice and makes my daughter feel comfortable talking about her problems I just cannot say enough about how they have and are continuing to help my daughter"
