"One of my close relatives has been going to Dr. Segraves for 16 or 17 years now. Segraves has helped them during three major manic episodes, and they are now on meds that work very well. Dr. Segraves is very straightforward and cuts to the point. Personally, I love that, and the times I've gone in with my family member were productive and pleasant. But that's a matter of taste, and I suppose some people wouldn't like it. He's also very good about fitting you in when you need an appointment, as he doesn't run over on time."

"I don't normally leave reviews but I had to say something. I started with Dr. Segraves earlier this year. It's been a very bad year. I've been in and out of hospitals for various suicide attempts. I only visited with him 3 times before he decided he would not treat me anymore. I went in to his office for my last appointment and the first thing he said was "what are you doing?" I said "What do you mean?" He mentioned my hospital visits and I said that I had some attempts. He then told me he would not continue to treat me if I kept "acting out." Those were his exact words. I was shocked and asked him "do you mean my attempts?" He said "yeah, you need to stop this acting out." I couldn't believe he was treating me like a child for wanting and trying to end my life. I started crying and asked him if he was giving up on me. He said no but if I kept taking my pills and kept going to appointments, things would be ok. Then he said he wouldn't see me anymore if I kept acting out. I left his office crying. That was my visit. That's what I paid for. I was in such a bad way at the time that I considered ending my life in his parking lot just to prove to him that I wasn't joking. Who says that? This guy is supposed to be a professional. He's supposed to help people like me. Him giving up on me told me that I was a hopeless case. He soon afterwards sent me a letter saying that he would not see me anymore. He doesn't understand suicidal ideation. He thinks people do it for attention. I'm not his child, I'm a 26 year old woman who needs help. This guy needs to retire. Please think hard before you make an appointment with him."
