"I strongly advise against staying as an inpatient here. I had to discharge myself (voluntarily) and seek urgent care for a change of medication and to re-enroll in PHP (partial hospitalization). Despite being sick and testing negative for Covid and flu, I hadn't seen my inpatient psychiatrist in 2 days, and my medication remained unchanged. Additionally, they informed me that my hostile roommate would leave the next day, after a day and a half of enduring her rude and aggressive behavior towards everyone. The food is inedible, and the facility is filthy, with the rec room's water station emitting a foul odor, worsened by the adjacent sink. This experience left me feeling hopeless, although the therapists and some nurses were excellent. Moreover, when some of the nurses suggest that the food could be the culprit, it's a clear indication of its poor quality."
"I was the first person to check-in in a Wednesday morning. Finance was quick to call me back, yet she was confused by Medicare. Waited over 2 hours to been seen for an “intake”. This is not a great place for mental health. Period."
"I am trying to set up a daughter for my daughter. We were at a point where we needed to set an appointment to see the medical professional. We waited over an hour, but the secretary never came back to her desk. She left for lunch at 12, and around 1:30, she was still having lunch, I assumed. I understand it never stops moving people in and out but not returning calls, or in my case, the note I left for her to call, which includes my number and name. It is a waste of time to leave a voicemail because no one will ever get back to you. I understand if you are doing your job, but your job is my child, and I’m looking for help."
"I don't even really know what to think of it there at Truman behavioral health. I'm still kinda new to them I've previously been going through Rediscover south and had been going there since I was like 18 years old (I'm 45 now) and I loved them! Loved Rediscover but now with where I'm living at I'm too far out of their residential area so Truman is now the closest mental health service that I can use and idk how to really even feel about it...I need a caseworker but they never even check in with me and that's something I miss about Rediscover, the caseworkers truly helped you with anything you needed to get done. I just don't know about it there at Truman, I'm thinking of going through Swope health instead but I really just miss Rediscover they were the best for me."
