Candlewood Suites Olathe - Kansas City Area, an IHG Hotel

"Clean and wonderful service from the front desk. There s are movies and board games available downstairs that you can bring back to your room. Kitchenette was adequate with a large refrigerator, small stove, and even a dishwasher. Water in the bathroom heated up quickly. Close to Target and a lot of conveniences."

"Made a reservation for the family. Checked in and was told we were upgraded by the manager. Went to the room and found we went from a 2 bed room reservation to a 1 bed room with a pull out sofa. Went back down to the front desk to inquire. Front desk girl told me that was an upgrade and I told her I disagreed. We have 4 people staying in the room and that is why we reserved a 2 bed room. She went on to state she could not do anything about changing rooms and the manager upgraded the room. I explained the room does now have a large fridge and dishwasher, but this is not an upgrade. We are staying 1 night and do not need either of those items. We are staying at the hotel to sleep. She then stated, "enjoy your stay" and was done talking. I asked for the manager and pointed to their business card which only gave me their email address. I emailed the manager that night and never heard from them (Shawn H). This hotel has very poor customer service and does not care about their guests. Not evaluating the lack of bed, this room was 3/5 stars. Do not recommend."

"Absolutely heartless hotel with a manager who is rude and incompetent!! The hotel overbooked and was throwing out my elderly disabled veteran parents on the streets who's house just burned down! The insurance company had reserved for several weeks and there was proof but the manager insisted they leave immediately and when asked if they could sit in the lobby with their things while they sorted it out, they were told no! It's not a good look to be throwing a veteran who had just been through hell out with no compassion and on veteran's day no less. Disgusting. The insurance was able to prove the mistake was candlewood's but no apology was issued. Of course. Thankfully they are being moved to a better and more compassionate place and candlewood will miss out on their long term stay payment. I will never stay or support any of these hotels or their sister hotels."

"Absolutely disgusting. We reserved a block of rooms for wedding guests and are mortified they had to stay here. Received pictures of roaches on the wall, and a video of bugs crawling on the bathroom floor. Do not stay here."
