"After a wreck totaled our family car, our BMI adjuster made an appointment a week out. Then, he surprised us by showing up early the next morning to pressure us into settling. The settlement offer was low and I wanted to first verify the comparables. Surprisingly, the comparables were not legit (ie. same year, make, model). One car had even been removed from the lot after not passing inspection! I spent a couple days trying for a fair offer. But, the adjuster was in a hurry to get the car out of impound and not willing to negotiate. When he threatened to make me pay for the storage fees, I relented. I knew the comparables were unfair, but just didn’t want the hassle. A week later, the car was still in storage! They spent a week picking it up! On the phone, I verified that I should not be paying for all these storage fees and the adjuster agreed that I would not pay any. But, nothing was in writing. When I finally received a settlement check, I was stunned. They DID charge me for impound storage fees! I called and left a message… he never called back. So, If you want a fair price, if you want to be treated with respect, if you don’t like being pressured, or if you want to feel like someone is on your side, find a different company. I see that BMI responds to negative reviews. If BMI ever makes amends, I will update this 1 star review. They have my number."

"Filed a claim with this company over 7 months ago. The adjuster has not returned calls or an email for over a week. They denied ALE even though my house had no running water, toilets, showers, or kitchen for over 3 months. They still have yet to pay for part of the damage as well."
