"Can someone please explain to me why I was just chastised by the cashier for not wanting to give her my home address? Can we not just pay and leave? I visited this store to find a pair of shoes for an event that night. At checkout, the cashier asked if we found what we were looking for. I said no but I can make these work. She didn’t ask what I was looking for or offer to find what I wanted at another location. She just asked for my phone number, which I gave to her. Then she asked for my address. I explained that I was in a hurry and would rather just pay. I asked if there would be any additional discount for completing a profile. She gave a speech about the benefits of setting up a profile. Again, I asked to just check out and even thanked her for trying to help sign me up for coupons but I needed to get going. She was literally exasperated! She told me I was really missing out and so on. I just wanted a pair of shoes and they didn’t even have what I was looking for. At least just let me pay in peace for what scrounged up."
