"I’ve bought fitted hats from lids for years. My daughter bought me two Chiefs fitted hats from Altuna mall in Iowa, she’s a student at Drake. So at Christmas I opened them and they were the wrong size. No issues so I went to Oak park location to exchange, but they didn’t have a good selection or size I wear. Me, my wife and daughter went to independence center location today and as soon as we walk in some young girl asked to see the hats acting like we were trying to pull something funny. Wasn’t going to let us return or exchange because the prices were blacked out (gifts mind you) and cut my wife off mid sentence. Spoke to the manager and finally let us exchange. I found two hats I really didn’t care for but was afraid not to exchange because time frame. Just a horrible experience all around and should make exceptions for holidays. And size selection has gotten bad. Service was poor, probably last time I buy from lids, plenty of online companies now a days to deal with this"

"As far as hat options They are top notch best quality in town. Over the past years i’ve spent ton’s of money here. As far as customer service 1/10. Its a constant pattern i have picked up over the last year or two. The main manager Has not only treated me horrible but other customers in store as well. She hasnt been in for a while or at least i haven’t seen her. The younger male who is usually there (lightskin short dark hair tattoos on forearm) has picked up the same habits. Here is one example from just today. I get to the store at about 4:15pm the signs says “on break be back at 4:25” The Employees (2) get back around 4:35. Me and several other customers proceeded to tell him we have been waiting here awhile and he says back “read the sign” witch made no sense to me. He unlocks the door then proceeded to tell me again to read the sign and come back at 5:00. I then waited around the two employees went to the back. I then decided to leave and call them asking for a corporate number as i have had enough of the outrageously disappointment from the service. The employee (Lightskin short dark hair Tattoos on forearm) answered the phone and asked me “are you the people that just left” as i had expressed that we were, the man told me no “*igga” we dont and hung the phone up. I will no longer be apart of this location for as long as the management and staff are there. We spend hundreds of dollars here monthly to be treated like this."

"Purchased a hat for my boyfriend and got it embroidery and the guy at the counter said it’ll be ready in 20 minutes.. No big deal so I waited around. I go back in 30 minutes and the hat is still not done so I waited some more. After a hour I finally go in and he says the hat is going to take longer than expected. Again, fine no big deal. I have a couple of days so I can wait till I get it back. I gave him my number to call me when it was completed and 3 days later no call, and you can’t call them because the phone rings 1 and then hangs up on you. Finally called again the next day and “manager” answers rudely and says they been busy so orders were very delayed. Great I understand with Christmas right around the corner however if they would have said that in the first place versus saying it’ll be ready in 20 minutes then I would have expected to wait a couple of days. This place is a joke and staff is very professional and seem not to care. I’m sorry you hate your job!"

"For Valentine's Day my wife purchased for me a hat from this location. For several months I have been wanting a Dallas Cowboys black on black hat. When I tried it on it was a bit too big, so I asked her to return it. When she returned to this location it was pretty busy, and had to wait a few minutes. When she asked for the refund the young man behind the counter was very helpful. However, another employee came from across the room telling my wife that she could not return the hat because it was too worn out, (we had the hat for less than 24 hours). Now mind you, he is speaking very loudly and embarrassing his coworkers and my wife. He continued to speak down to my wife to the point that she just wanted to leave and not deal with it. She said the other employees looked as if they wished the ground would open and swallow them up.After verbally abusing my wife over the "condition" of the hat, he decided to issue the refund. I hope he feels better after putting a middle aged woman in her place in front of a store full of customers and his fellow employees. I love hats and have spent thousands of dollars at LIDS across the US. I swear I will never ever set foot in LIDS again as long as I live. I will also tell my friends and family of the deplorable way my wife was treated. Also the only reason you got one star is because it wouldn't let me give you zero."

"Only place I could find Chiefs AFC West champs hats for the Chiefs lovers in my family for Christmas. They were $30, which I thought was a good price. I've paid more. They also have really good sales throughout the year, like buy one get one half off, or buy 2 get 1 free. I get all the hats for the men in my family here. They have a good selection especially in adjustable hats. My husband and father-in-law don't like fitted hats."
