"Was visiting this store with a friend last week, we have made some purchases here on and off over the years. They never bother us, even on the days we go in and don't buy anything. One guitar and some small things. There was an older women in her late 70s there for lessons, the man at the counter took a lot of time with her (younger guy with frizzy here, didn't get his name) and really seemed to care about his customers. I don't live near this store at all, but I am glad there are some small shops like this left. I used to shop at Fazio's Fret's and Friends before they sold their store, this place had similar vibe."
"I can't say enough great things about Tower Music! All 3 of my children and myself have taken lessons from the skilled instructors and we are always purchasing something that we need for our band or just things that we want, considering our family's addiction to music! The staff is always inviting, friendly and knowledgeable and prices are fair and come with an explanation of the gear you purchased rather than an impersonal online buying experience. 10/10 recommend"
"I’ve been shopping at Tower for almost 30 years. Always an interesting selection of new and used gear, both entry level and the Gibson es-335 I never thought I’d get to own. I’ve bought gear at other places, but it’s never the same as knowing where it came from, being able to ask questions and get things set up. Also, I love getting to know the people that make it their life’s work to keep music local and create a space for students to learn from experienced musicians. My kids have taken lessons there and loved it. Very affordable for the level of teaching you get. We’ve also rented school band instruments for lower prices than the guys the school recommended. Most amazingly, I bought a monitor there 20 yrs ago. I ended up blowing one of the speakers and it sat unused for the last 15 yrs. I recently asked Tim for help replacing some parts and getting it set up for my kids to use with e-drums. He helped me get it all done inexpensively and in a creative way that saved me hundreds. That’s support you don’t find anywhere these days. Also, they now have records for sale. It’s a broad range of eclectic and traditional music. I bought several albums for Christmas gifts today. Call Tim first and if he doesn’t have a solution in store you can trust him to tell you the truth and help you figure out your options."
"Guitar Center is better, and Guitar center sucks. Let me elaborate. I dropped my Les Paul off to have the intonation done and the set up. By the end of this ordeal I’ll have it done again because they didn’t do anything. Now mind you, This guitar was in their shop for three months, when I got it back nothing was done and I paid $100 for that fiasco. When I took my guitar in, The Second Time For The Same thing. Found that one of the pick ups was bad. They were brand new pick ups, all that required was to be taken out and sent in for warranty. I had to call EMG and set the entire thing in motion, Tim literally sat on his hands and did nothing. I literally had to tell Tim to do this verbally just to get the ball rolling. My guitar sat there for a year with nobody doing anything to get it finished, and the new paint was chipped all to hell when it was returned. I was finally returned the guitar it was $400 and the set up absolutely sucked. I have to take it to another guitar dealer to have it straightened out. I won’t go in the store to buy strings anymore. I feel like I’ve been ripped off financially and I don’t feel this business really knows what they’re doing. I’m out $500, and lost my guitar for a year and a half. Good luck UPDATE: Placing it in the case because of my disgust, I just recently got the nerve to fix the issues with this nightmare, the paint issues which forced me to take it apart, and I’m contacting someone. They replaced expensive parts for Chinese parts, They cut and patched new “ plug and play “ wiring, installed the bridge upside down, failed to intonate it completely, and damaged other internal components. I purchased a locking bridge and not only was it inverted, they failed to tighten it properly, which had me wondering how they set it up properly if the bridge was incorrect? I realized it’s never been moved. I’m going to pursue this…"
