"Our family lives within a few miles and we've been fans/patrons of B&B for years. Love supporting small, local restaurants. My family visited for dinner last night and I feel compelled to provide a review. I hope the feedback is considered constructive. There are enough little gripes that, considered altogether, have us concluding that we won't be visiting again for a while. Gold Star - the food is fantastic! The chicken tenders and fish and chips are a breath of fresh air as they aren't the "out of a box" variety. I can't remember an entree or app that wasn't really good and it's been this way for years. So happy with what you do and we really do crave your offerings often. Service - the people are great and you try hard to serve. It was busy last night and we had our young daughter with us. The woman working the front desk worked hard to get us a low top table - great service. The server and the training server did a nice job. A manager came around and asked how the food was. I considered bringing up this collective of issues with her at that time but I honestly didn't want to spend the time in that setting and I wanted to be thoughtful outside of the moment to be fair. You really do seem to care about your customers and it's noticed. Gripe #1 - Nickel and Dime You. If I order fish and chips and pay $16 for them, I expect to be provided enough condiments to enjoy the meal. A small cup of sauce is provided but each additional is $0.75. Enough tartar sauce for fish? = $0.75. Want ranch for fries? = $0.75. For a family to eat, suddenly we're paying an extra $7.50 because we want enough tartar sauce and chipotle ranch for fries. I know other places do this as well and it's not a huge thing, but it's a nagging thing that adds up. Gripe #2 - Carry Out Service. The last 2 times we've gotten carry out, those expensive extra sauces that I paid for weren't included. Each time we call afterward and mention this, we're told the online ordering system doesn't display something right, etc. Despite being told the money will be refunded, the problem is the experience of the meal is hurt because the quantity of sauce provided is inadequate. Who wants to finish two fish strips with no tartar sauce? Gripe #3 - Atmosphere is Too Loud - it's astounding how loud it gets inside. Lots of windows and hard surfaces add up to an echo chamber of noise. The background noise is so high that patrons then raise their voices just to talk and it escalates. We were dining last night around 5:30 and we had so much trouble talking as a family. If I didn't lean down within a foot of my daughter, I couldn't hear her at all. To make matters worse, you cranked the music halfway through the meal. I don't understand this - it isn't "bar time" yet, it's meal time, right? When I'm at Arrowhead, my Apple Watch alerts me when it gets dangerously loud at 90db. I had to check while we were sitting there - 83db. When I checked the logged data during our visit, it shows the minimum sound level was 72db and peak above 90db several times. I understand other establishments might get equally as loud during social after-hours time but that isn't a place we go to have a family meal. We won't be returning for in-person dining unless it's pleasant out and we can sit outside. You have food that we want to enjoy and you're a business we wish to support but the many small gripes are adding up to us needing to make other choices for our meals. I hope you might consider these topics and perhaps make a few adjustments to make improvements going forward. Thanks for your time."
"Normally it's not super busy but tonight for some reason it took an extra 20 minutes for my meal and then they forgot the fries. Everyone there seemed pretty irritated with the service."
"Food was well made, if not a tad under seasoned. Fries and onion rings were perfect. Salmon cut a bit awkward for the bun. Burgers were decent, but not amazing. Bloody Mary's were pretty good."
"*Insider Review* I worked for Burg & Barrel in 2023 while changing career paths, and trying to build a business of my own. Amanda the owner is fantastic her passion for the work they do everyday, and her hands on dedication to the concept are a breath of relief we live in a period where large corporations just plop a business on every block, and have unlimited resources to do so. Burg and the Owners Jake & Amanda pour a lot into this concept time, energy, and passion. Some key drivers while working there. -Cleanliness I've worked for 30+ restaurants, and this one is by far the cleanest location I have worked for. I am talking kitchen included. Even the dish pit is hand scrubbed nightly! -They give good people great chances a lot of staff there is new with no serving exp. The owners stepped in, and guided this staff to where it is today. Always room for growth but still an excellent concept. -Care they genuinely care for employees providing good, hours, wages, and feedback. -It's been in the 100s the heat has been awful but the patio on a nice day you cant beat. Nice seating great shade, and a good place to enjoy some drink specials. -Now off to the food- I saw it all the whole menu. The executive chef works hard to continuously stay on-top of the newest dining exp. Curating a menu of mouthwatering family favorites with the added bonus you don't have to do this dishes. With all growing concepts you're bound to see menu changes, and new items. With this they are always trying new burgers food, and other basic items to add to the exp. My personal favorite I would get a Spicy Avocado make it into a wrap add some buffalo sauce, and chicken you're in heaven. Why I don't have a picture of it? I would dive in, and forget to take one. #2 The Big Pig. A whopping plate sized tenderloin with some from scratch honey mustard. As a honey mustard fan this place makes the best I've ever had. #3 Feeling like something light with great flavors, and still will fill you up. The steak salad was my go-to lunch. Fresh produce, and great steak. Pick one of many scratch made dressings of your preference. You cant beat it. I personally am a google addict when it comes to a new restaurant or place to try If you're looking for a family friendly American Style Classic you'll find it here. Great place to hangout have a few drinks, and catch up with family, and friends. They also have some amazing Trivia on Wednesday. Always a good way to make plans with friends and see whos smarter. I will defiantly be returning/recommending the food. While supporting a local business that actually cares!!!"
"They handled traffic really well on a busy Saturday night before the Super Bowl. Service was quick, efficient and polite. The temperature in the restaurant was set warm to counter the high ceilings and chilly night. Vast selection of drinks, adequate selection for a vegetarian, not just a black bean burger. Wraps and fries were good. Burger and chicken sandwich were delicious, too. You won’t miss the game, large selection of big screen TVs on the wall. You can pay your bill through a QR code and log into your toast account or you can pay as a guest. Makes it super convenient with Apple Pay."
