"First time I've eaten at this KC landmark. The tacos were delicious, the burgers loose meat and quite good. Everything was cheap, also, so really got good value. Really enjoyed the experience, even though it was getting late and almost closing time. Damn good tacos (the tops are fried closed, so it isn't a Taco in the traditional sense of a shell with fillings inside that you sprinkle sauce and toppings in)."
"Let's go! This is a top-tier pork tenderloin sando! It's hot and fresh every time. I love this place. Try it!"
"Honestly, me and my family decided to go here for lunch from the recommendation of our friends, especially for the tacos. When we first went in, the atmosphere was pretty mediocre, or at least for my standards. The service was wonderful as they were all friendly and welcoming! We ordered the cheez pocket burgers, the everything burrito, cheez burrito, fries, and beef and cheese tacos with free waters. The price was around $55, which was pretty average for a family of five. The price was alright until you see what the food looks like. First of all, the fries weren’t salty, and had barely any salt, or at least the salt didn’t stick on the fries. They were also pretty crunchy, which for me, I prefer soggy fries, so you could say the fries were average. 5/10 The pocket burgers were basically sloppy joe’s without the sauce. In my guess, they probably used the beef or meat from the tacos and slapped it on two buns. It was very messy from the meat dropping into the bag and how the mustard and cheese spilled everywhere (personally I like messy), so everyone’s glad that it came with the packaging of the burger. It was pretty good to me, but one of my family members stated that it was somewhat of a let down. 5/10 Next, the burritos were not good, as they reminded me of what I can buy in a 8-pack at Walmart, and they charge over $4 for one. We were expecting them to be at least like Taco Bell, with a softer shell filled with the toppings we requested, not just piled on top. It was almost inedible, as the burrito mostly had beans inside. It tasted stale and had little to no flavor, and I couldn’t take another bite. It was also missing the cheese and the tomatoes for the everything burrito and for the cheez burrito, it was technically the same but with nacho cheese on top. 2/10 Last but definitely not least the famous tacos this place is known for. First of all, it was the highlight of our selection, as it tasted like the jack in the box tacos. It was nice and crunchy, and it was nice and a bit soggy in the middle of the taco, which had the most flavor. It paired well with the crunchy outside, and it was arguably better than the tacos they have at Jack in the Box. The only thing I didn’t like was how they used powder cheese. However, it was somewhat overhyped in my opinion. 7/10 Overall, we’d probably wouldn’t come back here again as we all left the restaurant with dissatisfaction. If we were to come back, it’s only for the tacos and to try the dessert next time. The service is wonderful, just disappointed on how the food couldn’t be the same. My final score is 4/10"
"I've been here twice. In A Tub is a pretty unique experience from a menu standpoint. Service is super friendly. I think the place has been here for a long time based on a local recommendation. The whole reason to come here is for the deep fried tacos. They're great. My second visit I brought my vegetarian daughter. You can do a deep fried bean taco, fried pickles and mushrooms. She didn't like the tacos but she liked the other fried foods. They do not sell T-shirts at this location and that is a crime. I really like the place. They do a nice job."
"My family and I were in town from Springfield IL for a volleyball qualifier for my daughter and we were searching for places to eat lunch at and we ran across this restaurant. Let me tell you this was a great place to eat at. The employee asked if it was our first time here and we told her yes and she took the time to tell us about the food they had. That was a great experience since we didn’t know about them or their food, and their signature powdered cheese was as good as she said it was….I highly recommend this place if you haven’t been here…. 2 thumbs up for sure!!!!"
