Bienville Apartments

"Not happy with this company. Was moving to Vicksburg for a job and signed a lease, paid a $500 deposit for the apartment to live starting in November, 2023. I signed the lease in late September, 2023. I never moved in, never took possession of keys and never even met the management staff or saw the apartment in person. I wound up not moving to Vicksburg and asked for my deposit back. They said there was a clause in the lease stating I would not get back 1/2 of it. The lease is very long...about 27 pages with very small type and that clause is "hidden" in there. Since I signed electronically, I didn't sign a physical copy and never saw the full lease...only the signature pages. I contested them withholding my deposit on my credit card. Now they have not reimbursed the half they actually owe me and I have to make a decision whether to deal with it in small claims after 4 months. There's no reason for them to have that ridiculous policy and no reason for them to keep someone's money that never took possession of the property. My opinion is to look elsewhere if you plan to live in Vicksburg, MS."
