Reviews
"After years of meeting with therapists once or twice and then never returning to them again, I hit a point in my life where I was desperate to learn how to improve my mind. I was deeply struggling with depression, anxiety, insomnia, and I was grieving the loss of my sister who had passed away at 35 from brain cancer. I say all of this to provide some context for my review, because anyone reading reviews about a therapist is looking for something to relate to. After my first appointment with Kirsten, I felt like I had found something different than I had in other therapy appointments. The office was welcoming, scheduling was simple, and most of all, Kirsten is an incredibly insightful, detailed, knowledgeable therapist who listens to understand instead of listens to respond. I knew after my first appointment that I’d be scheduling a second one, which was saying a lot given my history with therapy. I find so much value in my sessions, whether it be a soft “challenge” to my inner dialogue or a new way to think about something that I had never considered. I have been in therapy with Kirsten for almost 2 years now, and will continue to do so until such a time that I don’t need it (unsure if that time will ever exist tbh). Finding a therapist is such a subjective task, as we all connect with others so differently that it’s hard to say what works for me will work for you. But if you want a kind, understanding, honest therapist while you spill out the worst parts of your life…I couldn’t recommend Kirsten more. If I had a child who was in need of therapy, I would trust Kirsten with that job time and time again without hesitation."
"If you want a counselor that will advocate for your child look elsewhere. Dishonest when confronted about conduct. Will do or say whatever to save her own skin and suit the agenda of the agency that pays the bill. Do NOT recommend."
