"Having lived in three states, over the past 25 years, I've gone to more than a few OB/GYNs, some much better than others. Out of all of them, Dr. Medley has not only been the very best, but also the kindest and the most collaborative in terms of including me in decision-making about my care. For instance, she has been happy to work with my personal preferences around various health screenings such as how often to have mammograms and the method I'd prefer for colon cancer screenings. As someone whose BMI registers me in the obese category, I also appreciate more than I can express here that she's never once suggested that I lose weight or that symptoms I was experiencing were due to my weight. A surgeon as well, Dr. Medley's skill, experience, and attention to detail made both my tubal ligation and my hysterectomy virtually stress-free for me. Being a work-from-home mother, I can honestly say that, before the second procedure, I was whole-heartedly looking forward to the long, quiet weekend I would spend recuperating, in a local AirB&B with one of my best friends. Nervousness about the procedure itself was no part of my outlook. I think my friend taking care of me was more nervous than I was. Also, I had very little pain throughout my recoveries, both times. Dr. Medley is meticulous and thorough with every detail of her patient care. She has always checked in with me often during exams to make sure I'm not experiencing any discomfort. When it comes to professionalism, bedside manner and making me feel seen, respected, and cared for as a human being, Dr. Medley ranks in the top tier out of all kinds of medical professionals from whom I've sought care for myself or my children. Through the course of my entire life, I can probably count on one hand the doctors, nurses and other medical professionals who would come close to matching her in these areas. Dr. Medley is an exception to so many "rules" that have become stereotypes about the medical community. She is wonderful and a real asset to the Women's Health Center of Southern Oregon."
