"I took the course today they were nice people and the safety section was very nice and informative, but the riding and physical side of it was quite intense not a lot of coaching. You are very hurried through with not much training so low scores may be common. I feel like there should be a lot more coaching and training with this course. It would be nice to actually feel a lot more confident with your skills when you leave this class. But I feel like all they’re trying to do is sell you on taking the upgraded class."
"Update. I took another class with wonderful instructors. I learned a lot from them both and had a lot of fun. And I passed. Update: I spoke to the training manager and I am going to schedule another training. He was apologetic and helpful. Fingers crossed things go well. I'm updating to 3 stars because I appreciated his willingness to try and make this right. This was a really bad experience. The instructors I had were really bad. I had taken a course in California just prior to Covid and I had passed. Everything shut down and I had to start over. We since moved to Oregon and this is the only option. On day 1, one of the instructors yelled at me when I made a mistake during the riding portion. After that I never felt comfortable with him or the course. I had spent over $200 so didn't want to start over. When I made mistakes I received no training on how to fix it. I was extremely nervous. Other students helped me more than the instructors. I felt they had made up their minds i wasn't going to pass so didn't provide instruction to me. When I complained about my motorcycle stalling out, the same instructor took my motorcycle and made an adjustment to the idle, but it kept stalling and having trouble starting and he said it was fine. When given my nonpassing score the other instructor asked me if I really wanted to learn to ride. I wonder if they asked men who failed the same question. It was demeaning, and inappropriate comment. This was a terribly demoralizing experience. I wish there was another option. I plan to retest and have requested other instructors."
"Instructors were pretty solid and knowledgeable. Awesome people. It wasn't as bad as i thought it would be. I was a little annoyed that someone my age had to take, but thats an issue with the state. I have criticisms but they are specific to me and my low tolerance of annoyances."
"They were professional, and very helpful. I didn’t pass the first test however went back for second. I felt that I needed extra trading….it was no surprise! After a month of specific skill practice, I went back for retest w my own bike and managed to get into intermediate training….great course for second round! Gave me the confidence practicing what I had learned. I passed and know that I should never stop learning. If not for the kind ..professional instructors who encouraged me, I may not have passed the retest. It would be helpful to have some training or experience before Basic…that would cost more money too. My success was not instant…..some important things are not."
"Horrible experience started off before class started I was told I was the shortest in the class and he would have to find me bike. Gave me two choices. I took that in stride and tried my best on a bike that I knew was a little big for me. I have bruises on my legs from the pegs hitting me as I couldn’t put my legs out far enough to get past them in the walking part of the class. Then day one one instructor told me to lead the class and I asked confirmed the way he wanted me to go. The other instructor didn’t like it started yelling at me I was going the wrong way and I needed to stop right now. I was going the right way just did a bigger turn than he wanted. That was the end of my confidence. I came back to keep trying. Also was brought the the whole class that I was struggling to break a habit of two fingers on the break. Really feel like they decide to fail me day one and now what more money for me to retake the course. The only advice I got was to retake the class. I asked for advice on cornering on the right as it’s my weakness I was told they would address at end of exercise it was not. Feeling very defeated when I know I shouldn’t."
