"Fitzwater Law was referred to us by a friend. We are looking into how to best help our father, who has been diagnosed with mild/moderate dementia. This was our first step and, in reality, we just want to understand Elder Law in terms of our father. The assistant to the lawyer we were referred to really didn't help, even as I was having a hard time explaining that we needed counsel with next steps for his life (assisted living, medicaid, power of attorney, his rights as an elder in his household). She told me they didn't deal with Elder Law (it's on their website) and, when I asked if she knew of another firm that does, she just said "no." I don't need to relate how that felt.
