"2 years ago I was involved in an accident while commuting home from work on my bicycle. A contractor had left a large pile of aggregate in the road blocking half the lane of travel. The pile was not marked in any way and I could not visualize it until I was right on top of it. My bicycle had 2 head and 2 tail lights as well as a helmet mounted head lamp. I hit the pile and consequently was thrown from the bicycle and landed on my head and face. I was left unconscious in the road for over 3 hours until my wife came looking for me.
