"Tacoma Commons Apartments is a fantastic place to live in Portland. The owner is very accommodating and respectful. It’s hard to find a owner/management that actually cares about their tenants."
"We lived at Tacoma commons for 1.5 years. Hands down best apartment complex we have lived in. I fit my peloton bike and tread in the 2 bedroom townhome, spacious with new appliances. James, the landlord is one of the best. He is easy to talk to, accommodating, and overall a very responsive person. The complex itself is lovely. Low cost for utilities given the high efficiency and solar panels. Easy access to sellwood and Portland. We loved living here."
"We have lived at Tacoma Commons since late 2020 and been nothing but impressed. The complex is well kept and filled with other respectful tenants. The apartment is walkable to the majority of Sellwood and well priced compared to the majority of the other places that we looked. We are so thankful to call this our home!"
"We looked at a lot of places but decided for Tacoma commons because it is a great initiative - energy and planet friendly- and James, the landlord is extremely nice and helpful. We and our pups are having a wonderful time here amd love love LOVE all the trees outside the windows. Great neighbors, and really comfortable to live here. Can only recommend!"
"My partner and I moved in to Tacoma Commons a few days ago and signed a 12 month lease. The property owner and manager, James, is fantastic and probably the best landlord we've ever had. He showed the property to us and was super flexible with scheduling which was helpful to us since we were in town just for the day. Move in was seamless and he again was amazingly flexible with meeting us a day early for the key pickup. There was a little mixup with our deposit and to our delight, he was also understanding and flexible with that as well. Fantastic gentleman and this isn't even getting into the property. Tacoma Commons is beautifully done and a brand new property. The property is boutique sized with only 12 units which is nice to be in a smaller complex. The finishes James selected are modern, tasteful, and he did a great job using the square footage and maximizing space. How many times have apartments had wasted space everywhere?? Not these units. We moved in to the two bedroom which is just shy of 1100 sq ft. We did find some challenges with kitchen storage (we have a lot of kitchen stuff) however purchasing a shelf to install over the bar area will remedy that. In addition to the units being tastefully designed and appealing visually, they are also extremely energy efficient with the goal of a net zero. There are 9 spots (with a monthly rent) and chargers available for EV or hybrids. There aren't enough spaces for all units to have a spot however James was thoughtful in not allowing units to have additional spots until all residents had the opportunity to request one if needed. If renting a spot isn't within your budget which is understandable because Sellwood is pricey, don't worry because there is plenty of street parking available. The balconies are a little tight but given the footprint of the lot it looks like James maximized the space as best as he could. The balcony is private with a metal facade and wood decking - yet another finish that's above and beyond builder grade and an unexpected touch. Utilities are a flat rate which is nice for budgeting and the rates are extremely reasonable based on occupancy. The wifi that's included currently isn't working however I know that James is working to resolve that and is very good at communicating with residents on progress. Right now there are only two units left so act fast! This building is lovely and a great addition to this awesome neighborhood!!"
