Reviews
"Very welcoming congregation, friendly to all, thought-provoking talks, interesting and varied activities for kids and adults alike."
"I miss the physical church, but I’m staying (somewhat) sane these days with Zoom services as well as texts, phone calls, and social distance visits with friends from the congregation. My husband and I started going to UUCCWC in March 2018. I had quit my job to focus on healing from a miscarriage. Though I didn’t miss working retail, I missed the community and the structure of going to work. Life was not great. My friends and family were far away. My husband worked long hours at Intel. The Pacific Northwest in winter is not a good place to be lonely. I’d never been part of a faith community before, and I wondered if I would fit in here. Would there be heavy perfumes that would aggravate my allergies? Would there be loud noises to aggravate my headaches? Would they think I was weird? Somehow, over the last two and half years, UUCCWC has gone from something I went to on Sundays to get myself out of the house to a central aspect of my life. After our daughter was born and I could hardly bear to be parted from her at all her, this was the first place I went without her. (OK, actually, I think I took a practice trip to BiMart.) How did they do it? With 60’s folk music and showtunes and Gospel. With handknit baby blankets. (So many baby blankets!) With small group seminars and thought-provoking sermons. With beautiful handmade quilts hanging on the walls. With potlucks. And now? Potlucks and in-person singing are suspended, but we still check-in on each other at Family Coffee House after the services."
"Warm, liberal, wonderful all ages congregation with many activities. Open and caring. Inclusive and welcoming. Great music and Choir. We live in this forested historic Orenco neighborhood and came a few years ago to hear Christmas Eve music and stayed. Open to all beliefs, no dogma. Come see for yourself."
"A quaint little church, in the neighborhood of orenco, Oregon. It is located in a residential area, with lots of Forest land surrounding it, and several nature parks nearby as well. You could go to church, take a walk, enjoy the day, and never have to go very far. Definitely worth checking out, and giving them a chance."
"So warm and welcoming. They put their beliefs to work, with volunteering and food drives and other activities. Exactly what I was looking for in a spiritual community."
