"If your into trains and train related things, you really need to visit this place. Pictures don’t come close to capturing the size of this trestle. The work that went into building this thing had to be grueling. Very neat to see."
"I used to run across this trestle as a kid with my brothers and friends in the early 90's, in hindsight I wonder just what in the hell we were thinking. Very dangerous, but luckily none of us were ever ever injured or worse, killed! Brings back good memories though!"
"Longest and tallest wooded bridge in the in the United States. And still being used by the train companies."
"Holcomb creek is a very beautiful place. After dark it is eerily quiet. Built in 1905, 90ft tall, and 1128 ft long wooden trestle. A great piece of history."
"If you love trains and historical structures, check out this trestle! Portland and Western uses the line on a daily basis so as tempting as it is, PLEASE DO NOT CLIMB OR WALK ON THE BRIDGE! It's extremely dangerous and illegal. Some facts: -Built in 1905 by the United Railway Co. -Considered to be the largest wooden bridge in the U.S. still in use -Length: 1,168 feet -Height: 90 feet -Made out of treated timber stringers -The corrugated tin sheeting act as breaks in case of a fire - Railroad runs from Banks to connect with P&W's Astoria Branch near Linnton via North Plains and Cornelius Pass"
