"If you are a fan of history, the Francis Ermatinger house is a great place to visit. The tour guide is very knowledgeable and the house itself takes you back to the early days of the area when the movers and shakers of the area gathered at this house."
"We took the guided lantern tour. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. The artifacts and exhibits are appropriate to the subject. Because it is a guided lantern tour, the exhibits were a little bit hard to see at night. However, nighttime visibility was an issue in the pioneer era and is an appropriate part of the tour. The spookiest part of the tour is probably the painted portrait of Dr. McLoughlin in the parlor. Seeing the portrait in low light is really a sight to behold!"
"Lovely Historic place worth a stop in beautiful Oregon City Please leave generous donation to keep house going!"
"This historic home, which is on the National Register of Historic Places in Oregon City, is filled with rich local, and regional history. Once again it is open as a Museum, after several years of undergoing structural reinforcements, and closures during the covid-19 pandemic. Special events are frequently held here, which showcase seasonal and commemorative times throughout the year. Step back in time. You can learn a lot about life in the mid to late 1800's in the early bustling years of Oregon City, with a visit to the Francis Ermatinger House. Entrance & tour fees are nominal or free, but donations are gladly accepted. (By: a native Oregonian and lover of American history)"
