"My son was battling alcoholism. He knew he was dying. He did detox a few times but could never get into residential because Oregon is the worst state in the country for programs. He went to the ER day before yesterday, my sister took him in because we're snowed in. He had a heart rate of 150 beats per minute, they gave him a few meds. He wanted them to keep him for a week but they sent him home and he died the next day. So in this particular case I'm not too happy about it."
"Called ambulance and took dad to hospital because he has metastatistic cancer and can't eat needs biopsy and MRI, they said it's all set up and it was not didn't i.v. him with nutrition and said they don't have an MRI. BS,. I was just in it 6mo. Ago. Been in it 3 times. CT scan too. What a joke. Sent home with nothing. Longer story but that's the jist. If you're told by them they don't have MRI in the building, they're full of it. They want to send him to Corvallis. Jesus Christ, I don't think I've met one person who hasn't complained about that hospital."
"As I waited for my friend to be treated I noticed how condescending the staff in the waiting room is. The way they treat each person that comes into this emergency room is very cold. I wish they’d consider how each person that comes in is going through their very own crisis. I am sure they work long shifts with rude people now and then, but perhaps if they treated the people better they would get better treatment themselves. I recommend for them to think about the word Sonder as well as the word Empathy! Thankful for emergency medical workers just some insight."
"I went in because I was throwing up blood and my general doctor suspected I had a blood clot. The doctor walked into the room and said "I don't know why you came here, we can't help you" without asking me any questions or listening to me. He refused to do any work ups and said "I can tell by looking at you that you're fine" despite the fact I came in sobbing from pain. I have a invisible illness and am fairly young so I look fine all the time, and deserve at least test work done, especially after I was sent from my doctors office, but I was turned away. The final blow was the doctor telling me "I shouldn't have moved here if I wanted medical treatment". I had no option to move here. I'm 18 and my dad got relocated for work because covid shut his business down. I left not knowing if anything was wrong, traumatized and crying. Worst "care" I've EVER received and now I have to see a therapist"
"My husband was admitted and needed emergency exploratory surgery. The doctor was great, checked in on him several times per day and took awesome care of him as far as pain management goes. He was not stingy as many doctors are which was great because of how severe his pain was. The nursing staff was really on top of everything as well, they came right away when called. You know how it's always a coin toss on what combination of staff is going to be good, it's different for every hospital stay. But I was pleasantly surprised by the level of care he received at this hospital, as we were in the area on vacation when this happened, and far away from the hospital we usually go to."
